    The fish look great [;)] but y'all look depressed for some reason, were y'all being forced to cook for Obama or Hillary ?? Next time someone needs to put a quarter in the jukebox, grab a few wild women and get the party started.......Southern style [:D].

    That is great fun. I worked at a DuPont plant for 37 years and the shift I worked on started a fishing party in 1972. We would do it two times a year, spring and fall. When we started doing it there were only about 20 of us.

    We would go to one of the local lakes and spend three to four days and have a fish fry on the last night we stayed. When we started we were all in our twenties and ten feet tall and bulletproof. We slept out on cots or blankets. We would play poker and drink beer and sometimes watch the sun come up. There were times we would have 40-50 for supper.

    As we got older we still had the party, but we slept in self contained campers and motor homes. We got to where we would be sitting around the fire in the evening looking at our watch and wondering if it would ever get dark so we could go to bed.

    For the last few years we have lost a lot of our friends and it has became mostly a retirement party. Now we can tell each other our health problems and our medications.

    This past spring it was decided that it was getting to be to much work and that would be our last one. So it's been over 40 years in a row eating fish, cole slaw, French fries and meeting with old good friends.

    Your pictures reminded me of all those good times. Thanks

    It is a temp gun. Dad likes it, others, not so much. Nothing starts a fuss faster than reaching for fish before its ready. Unless you are a cook. Cooks can sample.

    The secret to not setting the place on fire is one piece at a time and dont boil the grease over. And shake the water from the fries really good.

    I'd love to sit around a fire a listen to those old men tell stories. They look way too much like my step dad and grandfather that I lost too young. Especially wearing those overalls and camo hats.
