On my 80 Acre mountain in Lancaster Tennessee. I figger another 18-24 Months, the 2/2/1 log-home, w/FULL BASEMENT should be "move-inable". I really want me one of them "remote"(away from house) wood burning furnaces, for h/water and heat! It'll be 2,100 Sq Ft. Wonder how big a furnace i need. No prob with hardwood. None of the 80 acres has EVER been logged.

Fishkiller- be sure to check the prevailing winds, and put your boiler downwind of the house- the smoke ain't pretty when it is blowing in the front door. While fooling around, you might look at electricity generation- not from the boiler, but wind or solar.

Gents- have lived in Alaska- (fascinating), and Colorado (beautiful, but overun with Yuppies) and Hawai'i (great, but not perfect) Everywhere there will be some good things, and some down sides. But later today, I will be in a favorite place- in a Jon boat with a grandkid abusing the trust of an innocent fish. Won't be at the range, because youngster gets out of school too late. That is for Saturday. While waiting for the munchkin, will be working on the Mossberg 51M I am restoring.

I'm unattached, semi retired and live in a 38' diesel pusher motorcoach, so when I get tired of the view I just move the windows. Central Florida is fine for now and time spent at the local nudist resort playing Petanque and lounging around the pool is the most relaxing lifestyle a single guy could ask for.
