It looks nice but I wish it was in 3" ..2.5 is just not enough to shoot mountain squirrels.

I believe Marlin made a lever 4-10 a while back.
I wanted one but missed my chance.

saw one of the marlins, or winchesters at a local gun show years back, was thinking of getting it for grandson, till I picked it up, HEAVY, way to heavy for a small kid, same with the henry, had a big boy in 357 the grandson couldn't even hold it up. it would be ok for a grown man but still would be a lunker to carry around the woods all day.

Marlin made one from about 1929-1932 that were used as a stock promotion.
Winchester made the 9410 maybe late 90's? and Marlin countered with theirs.
I prefer the old Marlin. Light and slick!

I still kick myself, Ed, for not buying a nice one about eight years back! Those old Marlin guns are really neat!

James, I have a 9410 Packer model and an old original Marlin.
The Marlin is so much nicer! My Dad used to shoot pigeons with his. I shot a lot of clay pigeons with that old Marlin!

I have a 1893 Marlin with a 26" octagon barrel that was nicely converted to .410 many years ago. It was orignaly a .32-40.

I suspect it was made for exibition shooting withing a confined area , but have no history on it.
