If you don't have one of these and you eat a lot
of potatoes (we eat at least 5 lbs a week) you need
to get you one...
It does great on tomatoes, cucumbers, apples...
you get the idea...[8D]

LL Bean makes a great apple slicer/peeler.

And anyone can use it, whether you are right handed, left handed, or -- like a politician -- underhanded.[:D]

I got the cheap one from a Asian Market that's pretty much like that but plastic with a metal blade. I think there is a plastic blade, too but I never used that.

It's being willing. I found out early that most men, regardless of cause or need, aren't willing. They blink an eye or draw a breath before they pull the trigger. I won't. ~ J.B. Books

I've used one like that for somewhere between fifty and sixty years. When I worked at Fish Derby I peeled twenty-five to one hundred pounds of potatoes a day. The longer you used it the sharper it got.

I'm waiting for somebody to make one like southgeorgiaivory posted with the handle in the right place and I'll buy one. I think the new materials are good, but it looks like it would be clumsy to use with the handle off to the side like that.
