Serial Rapist Tactic

Another Safety Point: Someone just told me that her friend heard a crying baby on her porch the night before last, and she called the police because it was late and she thought it was weird. The police told her 'Whatever you do, DO NOT open the door.'

The lady then said that it sounded like the baby had crawled near a window, and she was worried that it would crawl to the street and get run over. The policeman said, 'We already have a unit on the way, whatever you do, DO NOT open the door.' He told her that they think a serial killer has a baby's cry recorded and uses it to coax women out of their homes thinking that someone dropped off a baby. He said they have not verified it, but have had several calls by women saying that they hear baby's cries outside their doors when they're home alone at night.

Please pass this on and DO NOT open the door for a crying baby --- This should be taken seriously because the Crying Baby theory was mentioned on America's Most Wanted this past Saturday when they profiled the serial killer in Louisiana .
(((((((((((((((((((((((((((((((((((((((((((((((((((((((((((((((((((((

Have any of you heard of this?

I know that women instinctively react to crying babies and this seems plausible.

However, I'm curious as to whether it has actually happened.

I do believe that a recording of a crying baby was actually used by a known serial killer, to lure his victims (or gain entry to their homes).

    (IIRC)
Some will die in hot pursuit
    And fiery auto crashes
Some will die in hot pursuit
    While sifting through my ashes
Some will fall in love with life
And drink it from a fountain
That is pouring like an avalanche
    Coming down the mountain

So, if we hear a baby crying outside, we nudge our wives and tell 'em to get out there and see about it and roll over and go back to sleep.

Sounds like someone heard a couple of stray cats breeding on their front porch late one night and let imagination take off running. [:D]

Sounds like an internet hoax to me. Shoot first and change diapers later.

Many years ago, we had a car wash/vac place in the middle of nowhere. Two nurses were there at about 0300 after they had gotten off after a bad day, and were cleaning their cars. They heard what they KNEW to be babies crying (they were pediatric nurses-hence the bad day at work-babies died, they were NOT going to let that happen again). They called 911 while searching the area. Nothing in trash cans, then they started looking in the tall grass in the area.....but the sound seemed to be coming from different places. Officers arrived and heard it also. Everyone was searching until one officer found an approximately 6" kitty track............and ordered everyone back to their cars!

Probably was a panther, even though they dont exist in East Texas.........
