14" Shotgun ???

I have been offered these Mossberg 590 12 ga shotguns with 14" barrels by a distributor that I order a lot of stuff from. Suppository they are legal to transfer as just a regular shotgun but that scares me a bit. I could see getting a letter from ATF in the future changing all that. They do look cool. P.S. Please don't post the ATF letters concerning these guns as I know they exist.[img][/img]

It took over 2 years for Sheriff Duffy to get a letter for their 870s that had to get cut down to fit in a patrol car.

Slugs, shot, bismuth, steel; the grip doesn't work the web of your hand like one of those vertical grips, and is almost comfortable. Besides, there's a lanyard/sling point on the end of mine.
Don't make the mistake of thinking you can sight in on something; you're likely to lose a tooth.

Read the description.
I don't think they are worth what some are asking, but there is a cool factor![:)]
Are they new or used? Markings on the barrel?
My thought is: If they are new in the Mossberg box with factory box label & warranty, & there is an invoice to the distributor, then they are LE overruns & should bring a nice profit. So, even if the distributor is wrong about them being "just a shotgun", the heat would be on him.
OTOH, if they are used, they sure look like after-market altered shotguns that should been registered as AOW. And, you could have an unpleasant conversation with the fellas with the bulges in the cheap suits.
Personally, if I were in the firearms business, I would avoid anything that might cause bad publicity. You could be painted as the supplier to criminals, especially since this type of gun is suitable only for holding up convenience stores. I wouldn't want to lie awake in bed at night thinking, "What did I get into?"

The shotgun is ATF legal because it is manufactured with the pistol grip and meets the ATF overall required length.
