Any Sciatica Sufferers?

What am I looking at? I went to the ER yesterday with severe Sciatica and they just gave me cyclobenzaprine muscle relaxer meds and antiinflamatory.

They were not cutting it last night so I ate a couple vicodines that I have on hand for emergencies so I could get to sleep and when I woke up this morning my left leg below my knee is numb and feels like when your foot goes to sleep.
It has been this way all day and hard to walk.
I wonder if I will ever Motocross again?
I skipped going to the track today so my leg and back could heal.

My wife told me I am getting old[:(]

Go to a massage therapist for a 1 hour deep tissue massage, and follow it immediately by a chiropractic adjustment. Do that like 6 times over 2-3 weeks, and you'll feel better.

It's not fun by any means of the word, but it can be fixed. Anyone with Sciatica should become best friends with their chiropractor.

I have it, but not as bad as some. If I get really fatigued, it will hit me, a pain that runs from my left kidney area, through my groin, and down my left leg. The worst part of it, is that it makes me feel as though I have had a rap in the jewels, the left one particularly. And, yes, I have been to the doc about it, and there is no problem in the testicles, nor the kidney. It is a nerve that gets pinched and/or inflamed. I don't take anything for it. If I lie down and rest for an hour or two it goes away.

Lady I work with has it. One time she collapsed in her cubicle and was screaming at the top of her lungs. One of the worst noises I ever heard. Very scary.

When mine goes, everything on my left side from the waist down goes numb and everything on the right, waist down, hurts like hell. It makes anything besides laying on the floor interesting and excruciating.

i did have it fo nearly 8 yrs
with mine it was sometimes impossible to get around, and when i needed to i used a cane to keep at least some pressure off the left leg
my symptoms included like Nunns, but also felt like someone was running a dull knife from the hip down the thigh around the knee...but INSIDE the leg
refused to take the meds cause they kept me messed in the head which i cannot stand
HOWEVER IT WAS CURED IN MINUTES!!!
when i was in a bit of an explosion ten years later...the shock force must have twisted things and relieved the pressure point!
then all i had to do was go through 8 operations and about 30 months of therapy from the blast and i was fine! lol

14 years as a truck driver left me with a case in my left leg. On two occasions I wound up in the ER. First time was in a small town and the MD on duty gave me a shot of morphine and it was gone. I mean just gone. I love morphine. A few years later the next bad attack sent me to the ER but this time I was living in a big city where they don't give morphine to people who come in off the street and ask for it. So I suffered for several days until it finally felt better.

I have found that when it hits, light exercise helps more than resting it.
