Just one gun ....

kimberkidkimberkid Member Posts: 8,857 ✭✭✭
edited December 2008 in General Discussion
Barrack Obamama is sworn in as President ...

On the afternoon of January 20, 2009 UN forces are deployed all over the USA, men in Blue UN helmets escort you to your safe and tell you pick one firearm and they are taking the rest ... they have guns on you and your family and if you try anything "funny" you all die.

You make your choice ... what is it?

Unlike the 2004 thread of the same name by ElMuertoMonkey ... there are no zombies in this one.

If you really desire something, you'll find a way ?
? otherwise, you'll find an excuse.

If I can only keep one that I have now,I guess it would be my 1300 Defender shotgun.Too many snakes around here and I am down to one good eye so my aim is not what it used to be.[:)]

I'm torn between choosing my battles and grabbing my HK91 so I live to fight another day
(family lives and we fight together with better odds)

    or

Come out of the safe shooting saying "We all gotta die sometime"

I'm not stupid enough to argue with that.

But until I die in my sleep many years from now, since I certainly wouldn't want to antagonize our masters even in print, I'll take the Commander, which reminds me I really have to get a medium frame .357 since that's my usual answer to the "One Gun" question, even though I don't currently own one.

For one gun on the frontier kinda thinking it'd be a 12 ga., but that ain't where I live, and 'sides even a sawed-off is hard to stick in your waistband.

ar15. reason, it can be a long range target rifle, a cqb carbine and everything in between.

but your scenario is ridiculous for the following reasons:

armed us troops would never be deployed into us terroritory to affect this search and seizure. its just couldnt happen on the world political scene.

two, if an armed foreign army was ever deployed to us soil to disarm the popluace, they sure as hell wouldnt be letting people keep one gun. it would be everyhting even vaguely gun shaped.

im torn between 2 different mottos. new hampshires state motto "live free or die" and the old sioux battle crie "it is a good day to die" i do not have any kids/wife currently so my choice would be an easy one.

hmm...my readiness plan for a blue-beanie invasion force is classified-compartmentalized.
I will gladly talk with you folks about it over BBQ or via snail-mail; but not in the public domain.

All I can reveal is that a chemist is a good asset in such a scenario

We won't have to worry about this.

He will not be able to produce a birth certificate.
The election will be declared null and void.
    There will be riots.
You will have to USE your guns.
    ALL of them.

Well, if it must come only from the safe, the Beretta 92FS. But, if I could take any one, not in the safe included, the AK47.

The UN huh? In that case I'd just laugh and close the door on them. Then they'd convene a committee, discuss the situation for a few months, and pass a resolution asking me to cooperate.

If they ever came back, I'd be long gone. [:D]

Assuming the UN ever got its act together long enough to get all of this together - and that's a big "if" - I'd opt for a Remington 870 with one smootbore and one rifled barrel.

Ammunition is plentiful; the gun itself is rugged, reliable, and easy to handle, and it's good for a variety of situations.

would`nt be possible to turn up at the door of every house in the u.s. at the same time...there would be plenty of time to sort through what you had...hide the good stuff...hand in the rubbish....you all should be buying junk guns to hand in if there is gun bans there...that way you can show you are all good law abading citizens who obey the law. but before anything like taking your guns happens, they will introduce full registration...they would have learnt lessons from here in `96..if it ain`t registered you have no way of knowing if it`s been handed in or not [}:)]...and a certain traitor who now resides in the u.s. and works for the u.n. on gun control called rebecca peters will make sure that registration is introduced there..i`d bet money on it..and i only bet on sure things!

Actually since most would be French, I'd just pull out my Warthog. They would surrender and I'd have even more weapons.[:D]

dan kelly, speaking of choosing one gun, did you ever pick up that 686, and if so how'd it turn out?

strange you should ask ...the dealer brought it to the range for me to try out and he aslo brought a taurus 627 with the 6 inch barrel...7 shots...stainless..also in .357...i wasn`t much interested in it, but he said to just try it out...i did...i compared them both, and the taurus out shot the s&w big time!..i ended up giving him back the smith and i bought the taurus. i`m real happy with it,he reloads ammo for me(i hav`nt got a reloader yet) and he only charges me $20 per 100 rounds...that is dirt cheap for here, trust me..we don`t have cheap ammo here in any calibre or guage! the smith 686 was in as good as condition as the taurus, but the cylinder was loose on the smith...i didn`t like that much...someone who has owned and used smiths for years said it is common for them, but i have no idea.

anyway, i got the taurus, and i shoot well with it, and i`m happy with it....i also bought my ruger 22/45 stainless from him..brand new..it`s stainless as well, with the bull barrel and scope rail..i was surprised how accurate it was right out of the box!..i hav`nt adjusted the sights at all..it`s like most of my guns these days...they are capable of better accruasy than i am [B)]
