Opinions on Trump completely irrelevant, I was wondering if you were aware of that fact.[?]
WHY?
You stated more than once you did not vote for POTUS in 2016, you chose to leave that box blank. Your voice was not heard, your opinion has no value, it carries no weight. So, every single argument you make about Trump, good or bad is like the cosmic winds, just background noise of no value to the questions and issues we face as a nation.

By your actions you have made your opinions, links, posts and obfuscations as relevant as the Renhuai City, Guizhou province, China Director of Sewers opinion in American Presidential matters.

Congratulations are in order on your self inflicted irrelevancy. [:)]

I don't agree with you on this bpost. Absent a "none of the above" box on the ballot sometimes there is just not a candidate a person can justify voting for and the box is left blank. That counts. That's the way I view it, I know some will not agree.

Often enough I don't vote in everything on the ballot. I am a productive citizen, pay my taxes and vote. If I make a decision not to vote for one of the candidates in a particular race or on a particular matter, the does not make me or my opinions irrelevant.

I agree, if you didn't vote or didn't vote for a particular office then STFU.

Your vote is your voice. When there is a choice to be made doing NOTHING is never acceptable and doing nothing forfeits your right to * about the outcome.

The problem with this thread is that nobodies vote makes a difference. If it did, then according to the popular vote, Billies ball & chain would be in office.

The outcome was decided by the electoral college. So that makes what you're complaining about irrelevant.

But I do agree with you, everything he says Is irrelevant, just by the sheer stupidity of what he says.

What you need to do is ignore his threads like I do. I mean why read it when you know it will be wrong anyway. I have better things to do with my time than to read his hogwash, like counting flowers on the wall. By the way, I don't have time for that either.

Yes, that is certainly what I said.

And what is equally certain is that is not all that I said.

You are, however, claiming something that is neither accurate, nor rational.

I haven't "made " anything here. What value and worth you wish to ascribe to what I have posted is not controlled by me, it is entirely up to you.

For Pete's sake, take a little responsibility for your own thoughts. I do not make you do anything.

But, since today this is the 500th anniversary of the conclusion of the Diet of Worms, Martin Luther?s closing statement seems appropriate this evening:

"Unless I am convinced by Scripture and plain reason - I do not accept the authority of the popes and councils, for they have contradicted each other - my conscience is captive to the Word of God. I cannot and I will not recant anything for to go against conscience is neither right nor safe. God help me. Amen."

That is what I said then, and I do not regret it.

I think my decision was appropriate then, and still do.

Decisions of conscience are sometimes met with displeasure from others, it is an inherent cost.

I still regard my circumstances at the election then as a grace, as I continue to do so now.

Decisions to support Trump have now led many to a very uncomfortable place, whether they will admit to it or not.

And it has blinded many to any questioning of the wisdom of that support, or observations about the results.

    That was their decision.

And as they say, there are consequences to an election.

    Congratulations, indeed !

For those who think they respect the opinions of the subject person, what exactly would those be? Posting C&P information from others provides little to no insight into what the poster actually thinks.

Having on many occasions asked the subject what his own thoughts might be on a topic, and received diddly squat in response, I see little basis upon which to form a judgement.

Diversity of thought is what keeps one's mind alive. If one is looking for an echo chamber, one most likely already is supporting one with his neck.

One of things I most enjoy about this site is that there is some diversity of opinion, and on rare occasions some actual diversity of thought. The great purge removed some, but enough remains to keep it interesting. If we lose that which does remain we will be reduced to swapping dinner menus and gardening tips.

If Clinton were to be POTUS, I would just as easily comment.

I refused to vote for her, as well.

It just so happens that the majority of posters who bring up topics in these forums consider themselves conservative, and when they post nonsense I feel no special duty to join in the back slapping and glad handing just to make other people feel good.

How many people were posting threads in support of Clinton on this site ????

What you are seeing, when I post about the common foolishness about anybody different from the groupthink so prevalent here, is usually an attempt to bring the discussion to the facts and a more rational discourse.

As I repeatedly posted when the hoaxes and lies were being posted hot and heavy, I never got the message that the truth needed to be sacrificed just to make political hay.

When did people cede away the truth as a conservative value ?

Why don't I see you advocating for the truth ?

And just where do you get and post the information that you get?

I think you have to vote for one candidate or the other. Or the third, if there are three, as there has been on occasion.

I don't agree that non-voting is a vote. I understand the argument, but don't agree with it.

Vote for the best, or vote for the least-worst. But vote.

The electoral college was decided by the Founding Fathers, and that is good enough for me. This is America, and it's my country, and therefore I will play by its rules.

Who made up the rule you have to vote to have an opinion? Screw that, my opinion is not a single candidate merited a vote, though I did anyway. Thus far Trump has proven to be a buffoon. He believes if he say it, it is true. Alternate facts, really?

No, you are correct, they certainly have not.

But there are reasons why I do not routinely acknowledge many who also think in ways different from those who attempt to make posting in this forum some sort of gladitorial combat.

They stand on their own, for their own reasons, and speak when they see fit. They may never speak in this forum on these topics.

Let every man be fully convinced.

This is not a popularity contest, I try hard not to make it one, and there are more than might be obvious who have communicated a desire to not participate in the scat flinging some resort to when they have nothing else meaningful to say. I have no problem with that.

You could say my vote didn't count as all the libs in the twin cities gave this state to grandma pantsuit, but the thought of her picking supreme court justices was too much for me. I held my nose and pulled the lever for Trump.

I do not expect much from him and what we are seeing is really not that surprising. I expected him to have a difficult time implementing anything as I expected the establishment R's and D's to be in lockstep against him. I saw this in MN when Ventura got elected gov. He was able to do a little good and no lasting damage. That is my hope for Trump. I am not holding my breath for any game changing corrections. I am just hoping to tread water, hanging on to a republic until hopefully the left manages to derail itself. They seem to have a tendency to eat their own and I hope this continues.

Everything we do affects those around us, so a vote for, a vote against, a third party choice, or a write in vote, combine to give us the end result.

As did I. I voted solely based upon the SCOTUS issue, and that part at least, appears to have paid off.

I never expected much else either.

Why not contribute to raising the level of discourse here ?

I have many faults, bpost, more than you know.

And I have been called far worse, by far better.

There is an old saying that "If you knew me as I knew me, you would not want to sit next to me. But If I knew you, as you knew you, I wouldn't want to sit next to you, either."

We are all bozos on this bus.

Perhaps you should research the definition of discussion, before denying that it exists.

Nobody that I am aware of has posted anything derogatory about your family or pornographic in nature about you. If I missed something please let me know, I will address it.

I stand by this Barzillia; "Giving equal in return to that you demand from others is a glaring black hole in you."

It is why you are named "troll", and, as I explained in the past it is not name calling anymore than saying you are a Benz Driver. It is a moniker you have earned, I simply acknowledge it.

    For your edification;

    Definition of discuss
a : to investigate by reasoning or argument discuss the matter with your family
b : to present in detail for examination or consideration as discussed in the text

c : to talk about discussing the news of the day

    Definition of discussion

: consideration of a question in open and usually informal debate a heated political discussion

: a formal treatment of a topic in speech or writing A discussion on the topic is included in the first chapter.

Do you feel you discuss topics Barzillia? Do you contribute to the discussion with YOUR feeling, thoughts or ideas, sharing them for the sake of discussion?

Somehow I have the gut feeling that many of the rest of the 25000 posts are masterpieces of C&P, with a healthy dose of obscure biblical verses tossed in for variety.
