My mother "Katherine" turned 75 on the 8th of this month and Tuesday I had to put her in the hospital with COPD (Chronic Obstructive Pulmonary Disease). The lung specialist said that her lungs were severely inflamed. She also has emphysema , chronic bronchitis and asthma. Yesterday I got called to the hospital at 2:00am and because she had gotten worse. About 6 am I had to make the decision to put her on a ventilator (life support). She only weighs 84 pounds and was bad weak so I didn't have much choice after they told me that she wasn't going to make it like she was. She is now improving but is not out of the woods yet and so if any of you will please include her in your prayers. I feel as christians that prayer is the strongest tool we have and I've seen them answered too many times.
Thanks , nashflash

I just found out that my Pastor has terminal inoperatable cancer this morning. He has been in and out of the hospital for the past several weeks and things seem to be getting worse. I spoke with his wife this morning, who is my daughters school teacher, and she said the Dr. has said that it would be best to send him home and get him set up with Hospice. They have decided that they are going to try to get him into the Cancer Center of America, because it is a rare form of cancer, and they hope someone will want to study it which will help fund treatment. (I didnt ask what kind and she didnt say) I am asking for prayers for Candy, his wife, and Joel, his son, and of course for Pastor Andy. They are going thru alot right now and need all the strength and prayers they can get. Thank You All.

its all about pucks and bucks

There sure have been a lot sad goings on lately on this board and many prayer requests. There is a lot of good on this board and I am glad for it. For any of you Christians out there, I have this prayer that I say that has brought my family through some really tough times and it sounds like some of you could use it now. Hope you enjoy it:

    Novena to St. Joseph

This novena is to be said for 9 consecutive days. During the day, interrupt what you are doing to say one of the meditations. The amount of time you spend for each meditation is not important.

    First meditation
Stop what you are doing and spend a few moments thanking God for your life and all the good things in it.

    Second Meditation
Spend a few moments thinking of St. Joseph's life and his fidelity to grace, his openness to the inner voice.
    Think
    Thank God,
    And Ask

    Third Meditation
Spend a few moments thinking of St. Joseph's devotion to Mary as her husband
    Think
    Thank God
    And Ask

    Final (4th) Meditation
Spend a few moments thinking about St. Joseph's dedication to the Child Jesus, as his father.
    Think
    Thank God
    And Ask

There's no sense in being stupid unless it shows...

I know the Lord will take care of us all
