Keep guns in an armoire.

I've been thinking about making an armoire into a gun safe. Has anyone done this? If so do you have pictures?
I think if I took a standard armoire and design racks to hold the guns and a way to lock it should work.
The racks shouldn't be a problem, but I'm unsure how to design a lock that looks good and works good.
So I'm fishing for ideas on the lock from everyone. If anyone has done an armoire this way and have pictures that would be awesome.

You could easily throw some racks in an armoire, and it would be a classy and beautiful way to store your guns.

But your firearms would be no safer than the jackets and winter clothing I have in mine.

The only way to have a wooden armoire secure enough for weapons is to buy a gun safe big enough to fit the whole thing in.

A long time ago, I had a house with a linen cabinet at the end of the hallway. We kept our linens in the bedrooms and bathrooms, so I converted the cabinet to hold guns. It was pretty simple, and would be similar to converting an armoire. Of course, with wooden doors and only cabinet locks that I added, it wasn't terribly secure.

I saw an ad for some gun safe outfit that makes their safes to resemble pieces of fine furniture, but I can't remember the name.

It'd look pretty enough - but - not quite a 'gun safe!'
