The public should be totally disarmed in a generation. Got this from a retired SDPD friend. He says the cops there call him "Landslide" because he's such a POS.

    And after he retires HE should be disarmed. NO special firearms consideration for off duty / retired LEO's. They have 2 legs, I have 2 legs, and the pants are all the same.

    A few days ago I was saying that there are tons of LEO's for gun control and I was getting all kinds of arguments on this not being the case. I guess a lot of people even LEO's that don't live larger City's have no Idea how bad it is.

    Glad I left San Diego 10 years ago.

    The Chief of Police in San Diego, down through the years, has always been a political hack. Their appeasement program was responsible for the deaths of several San Diego police officers.

    I don't believe you will hear that type of statement from Gore (the Sheriff), as he has to face reelection every 6 years.

    As with any member of any department PD or otherwise, getting up thru the ranks requires one to conform to political policies (most of the time)of that jurisdiction. Their soul is sold for the price of promotion leaving all their freinds that knew them as they were behind. This Cheif is another example of that, just a mouthpeice for the ones above them. [B)]

    That was because 'tons' of us are for 'gun control', if you mean controlling our guns so we hit what we are aiming at!!![8D]
    If you are using the progressive term for 'anti-gun legislation' you are wrong!! The brass in the police departments, now that is different. Many of them tow the politically correct line because they have sold their soul to the progressive devil!!![V]

    Parading several "top cops" from Urban Centers up on stage with the President is not representative of the Profession IMO.

    I saw this and it's a shocking statement, but consider the source, he's from Feinstein's home state, so he's carrying the water.

    on the other flip side, an army reserve platoon commander in California told his troops, if he sees any of them trying to confiscate guns from citizens while he's in command, he'll personally frag anyone under his command doing so

    that story will break soon..

    Well, a few days ago I talked with out local "detective" about gun thing..I knew him when the was an EMT years agao.. He stated to me,! all people should be disarmed with the exception of police,,[|)],, I said you sure have come a long way and --conversation over.

    I heard an interview last night with John Lott, who wrote, "More Guns Less Crime." This interview was with Bill Cunningham on am 700 out of Cincinnatti.

    He is a Chicago law school professor, and 15 years ago Barack Obama was an instructor at his school. Lott said he knew Obama well.
    Lott said that he heard Obama say, at least a half dozen times, that nobody in America should be able to have a gun.

    Why is it that these desk jockey LEO bosses think that their governing bodies should make their jobs not safer, but easier?
    So many of them have an attitude that us common people are theirs to push around.
    Here in NYC, most of them fudge their required time on the shooting range with the result that you are safer from the gunfire of a perp than you are from a cop. We had an incident within the past year in which an unarmed suspect was shot with 59 rounds expended and was hit only 19 times! None of the officers involved was made to go to the firing range to improve their shooting....and our "progressive" newspapers came down on the side of the cops!

    Chiefs of Police of major jurisdictions are appointed on their politics, not on their proficiency as Police Officers.

    Same with high-ranking appointments in the military. Clinton was famous for passing over competent Generals for theater-commander spots, after having fired already-good ones, and reaching as far down as he had to, to find and promote political azzhats that were disguised by uniforms.

    BTW, thinking of President's Day, I even considered Carter as legitimately President, although a pizz-poor one. But Clinton was beyond the pale, and I could never associate him with the Office, even though he held it. And whatever it was that leaked from a passing septic truck and migrateed into the White House now, even less so.
