As an action movie? What's next? "Judas Was Framed" re-imagine and done by Baz Lurman in the style of Shakespear. Actually I might buy that movie [:D][:D][:D].

Riggghhhtttt. [:D] My cousins and I would listen to this record over and over.[:D]
And fiery auto crashes
Some will die in hot pursuit
While sifting through my ashes
Some will fall in love with life
And drink it from a fountain
That is pouring like an avalanche
Coming down the mountain
The director said this is not your biblical Noah.
Reckon what's the point, then?

Uh, money would be my guess. Oh, and art of course

Entertainment possibly?
14,000 animals, all CG and none quite like the animals we know. Maybe it is fantasy inspired by the Bible.
I don't know, though I am not a beliver, I have read the bible several times. I have no inspiration to see the movie. Just read some quotes from the director.

Nope not Bill Cosby's conversation between god and Noah.
If you want biblical high "art" movie then maybe Lott and his girls? Kind a like Penthouse's "Caligula". Did Playboy do "Macbeth" or was that Penthouse, too?
A flood...devastation...animals...end of the world...sounds like a biblically-proportioned action story to me!
Why not make heroes out of some...biblical heroes? Do you have the same objections to a remake of David and Goliath? Or Moses? The version with Charlton Heston had a lot of action in it...?
I guess I don't understand the problems...many people here sound like hysterical Muslims who won't go to a movie theater when the name "Muhammad" is mentioned.
Why?
1966
First time I heard NOAH I was in a sand bag Bunker on guard duty In VIETNAM cracked me up Arms forces Radio .I think they transmitted from a plane and I may be dreaming but thought it was a Lockheed Super Connie
1966
You jogged a thought of the Connie. I went over on one, it was 36 hours in the air. When we landed, our feet were all swollen from the vibrations and half of us couldn't get our shoes back on. But nothing ever beat a kapeller-driven Connie, for sheer art on-the-wing [:)].
