Can you pick out parts from the junk in the photo that would make a gun?

WHY! I can build a "TANK" with all that good junk in there.
But I will only build a drum feed auto pistol/rifle combo with the parts circled in red.
Now I might have to throw some parts away.

None of the above. Just make like Darrel and get yourself a nice crossbow. [:D]

Why make a gun when I can just make explosives from my own piss?

Some will die in hot pursuit
    And fiery auto crashes
Some will die in hot pursuit
    While sifting through my ashes
Some will fall in love with life
And drink it from a fountain
That is pouring like an avalanche

I have a full machine shop. I can make almost anything.

But if the first part of your premise is not true, the next part asking the question is moot.

..Looks over-engineered. Give me some schedule 80 3/4" pipe, a pipe cap, a 1/4" bolt and a hammer. Add low pressure 12 ga. shells and you're good. (you can shoot it first)....[:o)]

A shop had a bucket full of cut-off barrel ends, and I had some time. A section of 16-ga shotgun barrel became the receiver, a cutoff .22 barrel became the barrel, and another .22 barrel stub became the bolt. A rod was pounded into the front of the bolt to be dressed off as a fixed firing pin, and the back was counterbored to accept a coil spring. The bottom was notched and a mating sear was made from a piece of angle iron, and a large screw was threaded into the side for a bolt handle. The receiver was slotted where necessary, and closed on the back with a u-shaped flat stock and screws. I used two other gun parts, an old 1911 trigger, and a Springfield sight hood upside-down as a sear pivot. The grip was made from scrap that Ma Bell had left in the trash from some equipment installation. It fired from an open bolt, and I lightened the bolt until I got full reciprocation. It was a single-shot, but everyone who fired it said it was more of a hoot to shot than a regular gun. What a contraption. I still have it, because while you can make a gun for personal use, you can't dispose of it to others. But screwing around, is fun. There are probably a large number of these things out there, some of them no doubt pretty nice, not just an assembly of junk. BTW, my boat anchor stayed a single-shot, because if fitted with a magazine, it would have been a controlled-burst full auto. And I've always liked my life just the way it is.[:)]

There was a funny story about a guy who went to prison for making illegal full-auto guns. They needed to give him a work assignment, so somebody gave him a job in the prison machine shop...[:0]
