They'll learn soon enough when they start paying the real tax man, and they won't be able to do any more about it then than they can now.
The road to hell is paved with COMPROMISE.

My daughter has a friend that she has had since kindergarten. My daughter and her friend are both straight A students. The parents of my daughter's friend both have Masters Degrees and neither has been able to hold down a fulltime job since we have known them (12+ years). Additionally, the grandparents of my daughter's friend are both professors at the University of Notre Dame. Needless to say, my daughter's friend is now an extreme Leftist. She pukes out every Leftist talking point that you would hear on CNN and MSNBC.

My daughter's friend hates the "rich" and "wealthy". They are "crooks" and they made their wealth by "stealing from the middle-class". She loves the idea of "redistribution". So, I suggested that she take 25 of her own grade points and redistribute them to a fellow student that has a much lower grade point average. Her reaction? "That's not fair because I work and study very hard for my grades. The kids with lower grades are slackers and could have better grades if they worked harder".

The problem with communism is pretty soon you run out of other people's money.
Some will die in hot pursuit
    And fiery auto crashes
Some will die in hot pursuit
    While sifting through my ashes
Some will fall in love with life
And drink it from a fountain
That is pouring like an avalanche
    Coming down the mountain

Communism and Charity are opposites. Charity is of the spirit, but Communists don't believe that spirits exist in people, they only believe that we are just molecules in motion. Out of charity, most kids will share with a quadriplegic kid who couldn't get out on Holloween. But few will hold still for being robbed by a healthy kid who was too lazy to go out, himself. The denial of human nature (and the rightness of its judgments), is one of Communism's major props.

Before welfare systems existed, there was charity. After the creation of massive welfare systems, there is still charity, and it is very large. And that may be because people see welfare systems as being engaged in robbery on the behalf of the unwilling, while doing relatively little for the truly unable. Which leads to the premise of the use of the welfare system to buy votes, and not primarily to relieve anybody of any suffering, but that's another story.

Kids are good at figuring things out. If their minds are left unmolested, the truisms emerge, and often do under oppressive propagandization, anyway. Which mandated that the Democrats - er, Soviets put a Commissar on every block, to detect who the school-indoctrination was failing on.
