Up in Alaska an Inuit was out after polar bear for subsistence (meaning legal) and nailed one. Upon close-up examination he realized it was a nursing momma who had a cub somewhere nearby.
After finding it he and his partner toted the 17lb. cub 40 miles to the nearest town and turned it over to the USFWS.
It's currently sitting at the state's zoo as they figure out what to do with it.

Kinda surprised they turned it in. The pelt would be just about the right size to line a hood. Nice and soft too. [}:)][;)]
most ethical hunter specially natives dont ravel in luxury and see the need to not take more than they need.
