...and his hand dropped off the table.
The deputy's fingers hovered just above his holster. The saloon patrons entered a state of complete paralysis, popcorn still clinging to their lips as all eyes turned to the card table. The bartender crouched behind the counter, taking the flask of Bob's Best with him. "You're a coward with a badge and that don't make you right" said the man in black coolly. "Is that a fact?" asked the deputy. The man in black nodded. "Then I suggest you find your mount and move on" the deputy retorted. "I'm just getting started" he screamed and jumped out of the chair. He drew his weapon and begin firing wildly, striking the deputy and some of the patrons. His frustration and lack of ability prevented him from inflicting a mortal wound as the hammer clicked for the last time. The deputy stood to his feet, drew his weapon, aimed steadily and "POOF"!
