No heat shield

I bought a AR upper . The handguard has no heat shield . Whats the worst this could do with out the metal heat shield inside ??

    Sounds like someone assembled an upper cheaply useing atleast one set of airsoft AR handguards.
    I would swap them out for the real thing... AR handguards are cheap.

    Heat shields or not, they all get hot.

    Some hand guards did come with out heat shields and they were not air soft. I'm not sure that that's as bad as it sounds as metal retains heat longer then plastic.

There's also a very good reason Colt doubled them when they improved it into the M4.

    To see for yourself, load up a couple of hundred rounds, remove your heat shields, quickly run those mags through the gun and let us know how things work out.

    I'd suggest keeping a fire extinguisher handy. [:D]

    I believe cavalry Arms makes a whole slew of guard configurations with single or double sheilds.
