I refinished the stock and repointed the checkering. Then I mounted the scope. I'm looking for a smaller scope but this will do for now.

Good luck with that mount. I had one like that on a carbine and ejected casings just hit the bottom of it and the scope and dropped back into the action.

never did care for thumbhole stocks, and M1 carbines have always been sort of iffy to me as far as aesthetics, but damn! that's a beautiful gun.
