That was a very well written article. The judge, Lucero, did the right thing. I'd love to have a greenhouse or hydroponic setup but went for that very reason. I don't have the money to prove my innocence.

Before they do the 'hard knock- door bash' they had better be DARN sure they have the proper reason. A man's home is his castle and a fight to the death may ensue. The citizen doesn't know if the invaders are thugs, cops or thugs dressed as cops. It's lucky the guy didn't answer the door carrying a gun, as I would have.
I would rather a crook get away as have an innocent civilian (and his family) damaged.

Bad court decisions are always the result of poor/improper police work.

    Every single one.

This one also. I hope they win.

"The war on drugs" has been used to greatly erode civil liberties in this country. These people just happen to have the education and the means to fight back, most people don't.

They deserved the no-knock raid; violations of the National Electric Code can be clearly seen in the photo.

Stuff like this happens all the time. It's just that these people have the brains and determination to fight back. Beyond poor police work. The only way for this to stop is when the people who make the decisions are held responsible for their actions.

First of all growing anything much less weed under a couple florescent lamps is lame at best.

I used to have several 1,000 watt Metal Halide and 1,000 watt Sodium Vapor lights to provide a decent amount of light for my grow room back in the day.

    Secondly

The "evidence" used to bust these people was even lamer. LEO should go to jail for violating their rights.
Why don't we go to school and work on the weekends and take the week off!

    you are correct

only thing i see in the pic from a grow store is ph up/down, ferts and pea gravel that fits in a small bag

sad is that the leo's involved probably feel completely justified since this tactic did result in a few arrest for pot

Quite telling is the note about how a press conference was prearranged for later that day.

America needs to take a great deep breath and decriminalize pot. Make it like alcohol, where kids aren't allowed to buy it and you can't drive around smoking it, but allow people to grow it at home (we're allowed to brew our own beer at home) and allow people to smoke it. Get cops back to worrying about rapists and murderers.

The District of Columbia has made this change, and life continues in the city. Not saying DC doesn't have a whole host of other problems, but in this case it made the right call.

Use LED's now if you have to go green but invite the Sheriff to come down and inspect your plants so they can be informed of you intentions.

After all you are guilty until proven innocence.

From that article I don't blame the cops that did the raid.

Am I wrong or are the cops involved in the raid not the ones involved in the investigation? If that's correct these cops were just doing their job in a potentially very dangerous situation.

The ones responsible and that should be fired are the cops who went through the trash and " field tested" the vegetation. They should have sent samples to a lab for verification. Also everyone involved above the investigators. The captain, chief , DA, judge that signed off on it. Clean house all fired and banned from working in any facet of law enforcement or " public service" for life. All pensions forfiet, all benifits cancelled, done.
