The worst part of the first half is over

I had the cataract surgery on the left eye this morning. The procedure went better and faster than I expected. I was standing tall in the hospital at 6:00 AM and I was back home at 10:00 AM.
The vision in my left eye was much better before the surgery though. It's like I'm looking at the world through a T-shirt or a heavy white smoke screen. If it's going to be like this, I might rethink doing the other eye.
The vision I have left in my left eye is better than being blind, which I guess is what happens if you keep the cataracts, but I'm used to being able to read movie marquees from a mile away. Anything less than that, to me, is poor vision. Maybe it will improve.

The road to hell is paved with COMPROMISE.

I don't quite understand why you had the surgery in the first place if you were more than satisfied with your vision. I'm developing cataracts, and I can see a very noticeable loss of night vision.
Give it time. It will improve.

I should have explained that I'm legally drunk until tomorrow morning, so I wasn't very clear in saying what I meant. That used to be my normal vision. Since the cataracts started forming my vision has been slowly but steadily deteriorating. The left eye was the worst, so I figured the worst that could happen was I'd still have one eye.
On the bright side, I got a pair of Chinese sunglasses out of the deal.
And all this time I thought RK stood for radial keratotomy.[:)]
You made me look it up. [:D]
Good luck to you, James.
Thanks James.
Good luck to you, James.

Some will die in hot pursuit
While sifting through my ashes
Some will fall in love with life
And drink it from a fountain
That is pouring like an avalanche
Coming down the mountain
And this crew acts like all are really good at taking orders...

The alcohol removed most of the X. Thanks Mr. Perfect.
I'll have to wait until tomorrow to try the sandpaper. I'm not supposed to use power tools today. Thanks Matt.
The doctor just called to checkup on how I'm doing. He said everything sounds normal. He said it probably won't hurt more than it does right now, so I guess I'm doing fine. I have to be standing tall in his office at 7:00 AM.

LMAO. At least your in good spirits.
As has been said, give it time. All will be well. Hoping you have a good recovery.
If not, try a sandblaster. [:D]
Good luck, james, things will "look" better tomorrow.
(Best wishes from another 'James')[;)]
