Could you email me you phone number. I wanted to talk to you about places in Alabama. I have Verizon, so if you have Verizon too, it's a free call. If not, I understand. John

Just got done doing more research work on the area. Houses are very reasonable and we really like the area. Might be making a trip in the near future. Found a bunch of homes we love, and all are the right size for us. A lot of really big homes, but we are looking to down size, not grow[:D] Looking for low maintenance. Thanks a million for all the info. Donna and I really appreciate all the help. Even if we don't retire there, it is still a wonderful place. Oakie

You posted a photo recently which showed your boat in the background.

I don't recall if you posted any more info after that first thread you shared.

    Get it in the water??

    How's it sail?

While doing some genealogy research this AM regarding an Indian word, I came across a map that shows where Charles Weatherford lived near the confluence of the Coosa and the Alabama River. His place of residence is marked on a map having to do with the Upper Creek Country villages and residences of some individually named persons. As I understand it, Charles would be the father of the Great Indian Chief William Weatherford, one of your great grandfathers. If you would like me to send you a copy of it, send me your address in an email. Or, you can go to the library and look for the book, "Who Who Among The Southern Indians, a Genealogical Notebook , 1698-1907," by Don Martini...which might be your best bet since it will show a lot more info about the Weatherfords than the single page map that I have referred to.

2006 TJ Rubicon 4.0 L with 47k documented miles it has all kinds of extras
custom sound system, rear view camera and bunch of other stuff, looks
    new inside.
With all the forward lights on it makes night look like day.
Oh and has a toy winch 2500 lb.
I ditch the knobby tires, someone traded me these for the knobby ones, I plan to buy a set of Mikey Thompson rims with smooth radials I cant stand the tire noise from the off road tires.

Got any recommendations for a snapper charter boat? The season just got extended through our next trip. I've only gotten to go once in the past 20 yrs since we have to plan vacation so far in advance and the season is never announced until well after we have locked in vacation time and the condo. I've got my sister talking to some of her friends too. She got to go last year and shared some with us. mmmmmm...

Happy birthday. Tell me more about the offer they made you on the VW. I still have mine and I have got to finish up the paper work so I can sell it back to them or trade it for something different.

Here's an interesting read about your Creek Indian people.: http://creekfire.com/muskogee.html "

A BRIEF HISTORY OF THE ALABAMA-COUSHATTA TRIBE OF TEXAS AND THE 1987 RESTORATION ACT

    Excerpt:

Although they are both of the same Muskhogean language stock, the Alabama and Coushatta were originally separately organized Tribes that inhabited adjacent areas near present day Montgomery, Alabama.? As European settlers began to encroach on their lands, in 1763 the Tribes began to migrate westward, first to Louisiana and, then, to the Big Thicket area of Southeast Texas.? The Coushatta Tribe arrived first, settling on the Trinity River in 1807.? Soon thereafter, the Alabama Tribe made the move from Louisiana to Texas, settling on the Neches River.? At the time of the Tribes? settlements in Texas, the area was known as the Spanish Province of Texas."

Paul, how long does a storm like this one screw up the fishing or shrimping in the gulf around you? I was wanting to do some offshore fishing but didn't want to waste my money if the deep sea fishing was all screwed up.

Oyster day at the Shrimp Basket.

They're getting their oysters from Bon Secour Seafood.

Not huge, but fill up a Captains Wafer real nice. They must be coming from way north up the bay as there was not even a hint of salt and the juice had little taste by itself.

They were shucked two feet away from me so they weren't washed.

I put away two dozen and was proud to do it. [:p]

Are you aware of his book?:

William Weatherford : his country and his people

If not and you want to learn more about it, you can go to the below link and look for a copy of it nearest to you:

I sent you an email through the GunBroker discussion boards yesterday, but I have a feeling something is going wrong, prolly on my end.

Can you email me about the hog hunts you alluded to? We go every year and are always looking for new places and new landscapes to hunt.

    Paul,
Those shrimp were the cats *.
I cut two pounds out of the bag and put the rest in the freezer.

I cooked like you said and they would be great for parties. I used chili powder because I couldn't find any cayenne. They were perfect. Kids to old ladies could eat them.

After eating and peeling, I took what was left and threw together a pseudo bisque affair that was damned good. I put away 16 ounces and a big bowl went into the reefer for tomorrow's lunch. I put some homegrown horseradish in the mix and I was amazed at the taste.

Thanks man! I'm ruined for the rest of the day. [:p]
