I'm feeling pretty good here in the Sunshine State. How is your State ranked?

CA and NY were no brainers as the worst but Nebraska being home to the the third most abused taxpayers caught me totally off guard. Sorry to all of the boards Corn Huskers but the state hardly seems one of the premier places to live in the USA (unless you are not capable of walking uphill and then it would be great) so why the high taxes?

41...no surprise to anyone who works for a living and is stuck here in the formerly "Free State".

47 here in Illinois. I didn't even bother looking from the top down. Went right to the bottom. Imagine that.

Surprised me, too. For years, though, my friends across the border have complained about the high taxes. I never thought to ask them what their taxes bought them...

38, which didn't surprise me. What did surprise me was Nebraska's ranking just behind California and New York.

Things look pretty much as one might figure, especially from a geographical standpoint and where wealth is expected to increase.
    What's next?

Looking at Delaware with the 8th lowest tax rate but also in the top ten of USA incomes it may be the overall winner for good places to earn a living. It is small but looks mostly suburban up north and rural down south so you can choose what suits you best.

I hate to sound like I am picking on Nebraska but #49 in taxes and only #22 in per capita income is a bad mix of numbers.

Big Surprise! Oregon ranks #42 after the adjustment for Cost of Living.

Yeah, I don't get why Washington is so good. I mean, WA/OR, they're run by the same screwballs.
