Weighing in!

After having avoided scales for quite some time, I have been weighing daily lately (and praise be to God, the number is decreasing steadily) and, after placing my confidence in a fancy new-fangled newly acquired digital scale, we have found them to be less than consistent.

I reached under the shelf and got out the abandoned old rusty, yet trust-worthy old-school spring-type scale.

I stepped back and forth from one to the other a few times, and found that I really really like the old one better than the new one.

(It weighed me a pound less than the new one.)

I also discovered that with both the old and new scales alike, one must be sure to stand straight and in the middle of the scale.

Even if you think you are in the middle, you might be off some.

More so than that, you might be leaning one way or the other and not realize it.

To sum this all up, please take note of the following:

(1) We need to be very careful about where we decide to make a stand.

(2) We need to understand that we all do tend to lean one way or the other, even if we think ourselves "The Middle".

(3) Just because something is called "New and Improved" and has various new-fangled "high tech" cool sounding "Progressive" names........does not make it better.

Stay tuned for more later.......gotta get a bid sent out.

There is something to be learned here, for sure.
Some will die in hot pursuit
    And fiery auto crashes
Some will die in hot pursuit
    While sifting through my ashes
Some will fall in love with life
And drink it from a fountain
That is pouring like an avalanche
    Coming down the mountain

I was almost to 245 about 5 months ago and am now @ 204.

I cut out all added sugar and white flour.

I separate fat/protien meals from carb/protien meals by about 3 hours.

Our bodies can burn one or the other, and when mixed........you wear it!

There are a few different eating plans out there that follow that premise.

Interesting. I've studied nutrition for some time and never heard that. Are there any professional body builders who ascribe to that eating method?

I would imagine that because a professional body builder burns wayyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyy more calories than us normal folks (that park as close to the door as we possibly can) burn would have an eating plan that is also very different. Many years ago I went through a time that I would break half a dozen eggs into a large glass, whip 'em with a fork for a few seconds, and drink 'em down.

I do not do that now, especially since my young children gather fresh eggs and occasionally bring one in from under a tree that had been there for quite some time.

So, you feel the expenditure rate affects what what calorie mixture can be burnt? That could be, but I'd like to see some sort of study that backs that up.

I never claimed to have wrapped my pea brain around the science of this diet.

I simply see it working in several people near and dear to me.

    Someone else did the research.
