Frat members expelled OK

OK I get it, zero tolerance and all. BUT will they expel all the students who play that word or sing along with it to music too?

If fat people called each other lardarse or women called each other a "Cee U Next Tuesday" I would have a hard time worrying about their offense when others used the terms.

That said, I was walking in a store the other day and I hear this loud chanting of the N word by a white girl in her car listening to some rap song and repeating the lyrics. I think it is disgusting the way we have glorified thug life.
Why don't we go to school and work on the weekends and take the week off!

Campus censorship only goes in one direction.

If you're referencing the Sigma Alpha Epsilon incident, there are some major concerns.

A public University should not condone or support (through fees, waivers, meeting space, or consultation) a racist organization. That my take. That's the standard I would hold my local University to. And the standard I would demand of any public institution.

    As an aside...
The same public University should not support any organization that engages in discriminatory practices in violation of state or federal law. And I'd support any interpretation striking down Plessy V Fugurson and the separate but equal doctrine. IMHO

There shouldn't be a Jewish Student Union Building or a Black Student Conclave, or a White Recreation Room that is supported by a State or Federal Institution.

Expulsion from the University? I haven't seen that yet. Not saying that it didn't/won't happen. But that would be a bit past the pale.

There are tons of racists all over our nations' campuses. It would be unrealistic to expel them all. But I can understand dismantling their organizations that benefit from public funding.

The JSU and CSU and BSU etc etc are the same as the Greek houses. On most (not all) campuses they are privately owned and funded. The black fraternities and the jewish fraternities are in the same rule book as the rest of the crowd.

For what it is worth, that chant did not originate with the E's nor did it originate at that school. The rhetoric from the Omega Psi Phi and the Alpha Phi Alpha black houses was 10,000 time worse what anything those crackers did on the bus, but were never called out for.

Both of those organizations continue to brand their pledges.

Like has been said; If Kanye West had done a cRap song with the same tune it would have been a number 1 hit.

But then Marvin's family would sue Kanye for infringement and win.

Yeah but as you say that you have but not in public, almost anywhere is public now.
Everything you post here can be googled.
Who knows even in your own business or home you may be actively recorded by someone including a family member. You just never know any more.

The Omegas still brand their pledges? I was just wondering about that. Seems body mutilation is a little worse than some words.........But that's just me.
"I'll Be an Omega Phi Si, till the day I die"
I remember that chant around Murray States campus almost 40 years ago with those knuckleheads showing off their branded biceps.
There was also a "Twenty Grand Club" Where the brothers dressed well and walked around with quarters in there ears!!
