If you hook up the gauges on a 134 system,with the vehicle not running,what should the low side/high side readings be?I have one that is reading 100-low side.It is about zero high side,but that may be normal without the compressor on.This is on a 96 F150 project and I want to be sure its not overcharged.

Im paying attention to this. I tried to do mine with one of those recharge rigs. I got the kind with the gauge but still managed to over charge it a bit. When I saw the gauge in the red zone I flipped into a panic a little bit. I released some pressure off the high side and things settled down but I don't understand enough about what I'm dealing with so I'll take it to a pro if it needs any more attention. And yep I know I'm not supposed to release that stuff into the air like that but .

With the system off the press. should be the same. 80 to 105 psi.
double check your high side connection to make sure the Schrader
core is being depressed.
