Colt SAA, should I buy it? Updated

A local gunshow has a person that has nice older guns. He has a Colt SAA made in 1900 that is matching numbers, shorter barrel, with a Colt letter. The problem is the letter says blue, the pistol is nickel. He claims to have bought it from the original owners family, and they say he sent it back to Colt for the refinish. It is an older refinish, done very nicely. The pistol could not have had much wear on it, and currently is in 95 percent condition. I believe it has a set of real ivory grips on it. Asking price is $3500. Should I buy it??

Ok guys,, I know it is just a story without Colt saying so. I did not ask if I should believe the story, but some people are fixated on that. I was asking because these pistols seem to be bringing outrageous prices. Look back at the highly freckled long barrel one just sold by locustfork, almost $3000 plus shipping.
