For all you gun experts out there.

A retired U.S. Marshal friend of mine wants to sell me her Bersa Thunder .380 for 250.00. Comes with 3 mags, ankle holster and 2 box's of ammo. Her primary carry gun was a Kimber Custom. She will not sell the Kimber.
Judging from gunbroker listings it seems to be a good price. Is the gun good,bad,ok.....

There is nothing wrong with a bersa thunder. I had one and gave it to my dad to carry and it shoots great.

Only problem I ever had with it was the grip screws loosening up and a drop of lock-tight solved that.

    they are OK
I had one for a year or so, it was reliable enough, though not a gun I'd stack my life on.

The price is probably reasonable with the extras if it's in very good condition, but you can get the pistol alone NIB for about $260

Here is a link to the auction I just put up. Sell the holster separately...it will NOT make the gun sell for more. You can watch this one and see about what you should get for that one.

I've had one since the mid 80's. Nice groupings, not too heavy.

Of the two, I would go with this one.

I have the Bersa Thunder .380 in Duotone. GREAT gun for conceal carry, and I like it at the range. Easy to fire, spits out everything, NO FTFs, or FTEs, and accurate at self defense ranges (10 yards or so). Low recoil, easy to clean, and goes bang every time.

It's good looking and for the extras, you'll do well for that price. You didn't say if it was Duotone or Nickel or what. Three mags though is good, since stock they only come with one. Two boxes of .380 are also worth about $30 too so you're doing well.

I say buy it and enjoy!

I have the CC version and I love it.

It's as accurate as I am too...

I shoot the Buffalo Bore hard cast out of it and I don't find the recoil too bad.(300 ft/lbs...damn near a standard 9mm)

(edit: I fixed the pic so you ladies can see it on your smart phones....[8D])

My cousin has a bersa 380 duotone. He's probably got about 1000 rounds through it with no problems.

You volunteer to get shot with one since it's so underpowered.

This picture isn't very clear, would you happen to have a larger, higher resolution photo?

That fixed barrel makes a difference in pinpoint accuracy for sure.

How many other pistols are there with a fixed barrel?

I have an older Thunder without the lawyer lock that I got for a really good price. I haven't had time to shoot it yet.

If I had to pick one or the other, I'd buy the Iver Johnson Pony in a heartbeat. I believe these were produced after Colt dropped the Pony. The current iteration of the design is the Sig Sauer P-238.

If I had the money, I'd buy both.

    Good luck. [:)]

Not alot that I can think of off hand

    CZ82 and 83
    HK VP70Z
    HK P7 series
Walther PPK (which seems to be what the bersa was modeled after)

    Ruger Mk I, II, III
    Colt Woodsman et al

I haven't checked all of them yet, but most of my revolvers have fixed barrels too.[;)][;)][;)]
