Hi Point 995 Carbine Rear Sight Assembly Removal

I recently purchased Hi Point 995 TS that I want to mount a scope on it. The top rail is NOT long enough to have both the existing rear sight assembly and the scope mounted at the same time. It appears that the rear sight assembly is either "studded" or "riveted" to the top rail. Does anyone have any ideas, or better yet - know where there maybe an instructional vids to show how to remove this rear sight assembly?
Ps
For those of you "doubters" about Hi Point products I will say that I was so impressed with my Hi Point 995 ST in 9mm that I also purchased the .45 ACP version. It's true that "you get what you paid for" - It is constructed of mostly stamped parts and not the best quality of steel. However, for the money I CANNOT complain about the accuracy or functionality. From a standing position at 50 yards I can consistently place the rounds in the 9 or 10 rings with open sights. With a "Red Dot" optical they are mostly in the 10 ring. However, I seriously doubt that I'd ever purchase one of their pistols. Not because of any accuracy or functionality issues - but because they are so darn heavy.

"she's good looking, for forty".
"it's nice work, for an amateur".
Etc.
"for the money" is a qualified compliment and if you need to add qualifiers to a compliment you've lost and ground to stand on.

Great one-liner.
For an amateur.[:D]

Go to You Tube and type in "Hi Point scope mounting", and you will find plenty of videos to look at. I tried to post the link, but it was all screwed up.
