crappy service...when the state of Kansas is blue sky clear reception is ok...when there is a storm within 50 miles none of the 4 weather channels bookmarked can be pulled up, grind along slower than an old crank corn sheller...about 1/3 of the time their service is slower than antique dial up...and I got all sorts of descram, defrag, virus block, etc, etc...with 3g usb 1.4m download..no way will I pay for any supposedly better deal when I am not getting what I pay for now...

All of the communications services are screwed up.. Bright House, Alltel, Verizon.. They just cant seem to keep their billing accounting squared away..We keep getting popups on the computer that we need to call their billing Dept or they are going to terminate the service.. Go to their office and its "Oooops" our mistake..Gets to be a pain in the rear end...We dropped Brighthouse because every two or three months they would send some dude to our door demanding payment that had already been paid..Those idiots wanted to charge us a Disconect fee,, For what,, your stuff was piled up waiting for you to pick it up.. Jerks..

I'm thinking that its the basic business model that is at fault.

Its designed to piss off the loyal long term customer and reward those who are disloyal.

With the ability to move cell phone numbers at will, I'm surprised any of us have the same carrier beyond 2 years.

Combine that business model with a utility grade billing system and you've added inaccurate to unreliable. (I'm sure someone can come up with a good gun analogy here). Worst of all possible worlds.
