Giving my parents a shotgun

I have an H&R Excell Turkey gun thats semi auto. It has a 22 inch barrel. What choke tube would be best for my parents age 76 and 78. I am thinking about her shooting # 4s. What choke tube and bullet size would be best. My dad currently has a pump shotgun and i am worried about mom not being able to rack the slide. She is a small lady about 5 foot and 105 lbs. My dad can handle whatever he is about 6 ft 3 and 180. Just getting old.

If they have to worry about what size choke tube for self defense, they probably aren't in any danger.

I would say go cyclinder bore with 2 3/4 #3's or #4 Because of their age i would probably not use 3" magnums.

Just gave my stepdad an Ithaca double thats Improved and Modified and a box of highbrass #8s. He was familiar with a double having hunted with them when he was younger, and the birdshot will destroy anything that comes in the house.

Between both sides of my dads neighbors its 10 or more acres each way.

Get her a little .22 revolver.
She can tuck it in her pocket and you'll get to stop worrying about them.
Your Dad can use his pump to great effect, I am guessing.
