My 45 SAA arrived. I knew that this was a commemorative model and somebody removed the gold embellishments and turned it into a shooter. I assumed it would show a fair amount of wear but surprisingly I can't find hardly any sign of wear at all. Just the tiniest bit of shine at the muzzle and that's it. Not even a turn line on the cylinder. No scratches or wear on the finish beyond the hint of holster wear mentioned previously. A very clean 1971 Colt. Looks almost like new.

Here's a shot of it in the fancy holster TrinityScrimshaw made and was kind enough to send me...
Also arriving today was a box of beautiful cast lead bullets in 45 caliber that bpost was generous enough to send my way. Here's a shot of the left side with a couple of the bullets...
I am looking forward to trying it out. Should I mention that I'm now thinking about looking for a 7.5" SAA? Maybe I should just keep thinking about it and not actually do it.
