I have been wanting one of these for awhile as I have several AR style rifles and it will use the same mag, Now let me say its the 24" fluted barrel varmint version and accurate is an understatement, I have bad eyes and even I can pop golf balls at 200 yards all day long. beautiful wood, very heavy gun but its a nice looking gun,,Now the bad,,the Bolt is horrendous, Its loose, sloppy, gritty if your not careful when pushing back forward it will bind , I have 14 Mosin Nagants propped over in the corner and I promise the bolt on every one of them is better than the bolt in this new rifle,, I googled it and this seams to be a very common complaint so I guess I will trade it off on something else. mossyii.jpg

If I remember some one had one or maybe it was a Hawkeye they sent back to and the replaced the bolt ( it was posted on here ) maybe something to look into maybe Mossberg will repair it of give some advice on it worth a shot let us know what you decide

I would just send it back for a refund. Why saddle the next guy with this piece of junk. I am so glad you posted this because I too was looking at a mossberg for my son. We saw one at my ffl when we were picking up my kimber. I handled it but didn't notice or look for the problem you stated. Thanks.

I have one of the tactical models with the collapsible stock , treaded barrel ect. works perfect. bolt is very tight, never jams. you cant compare new guns to the old guns. that was true hands on craftsmanship. if they were to make the mosin today the same way they did back then by hand-fitting everything, the guns would cost you a couple thousand.
