....I get to drive to Jasper and pay out my cousin's loan so she can get her car and come home!!!! I swear. I haven't been this frustrated in some time. I was coming home from the grocery store and got a call from a long distance number. I thought it was going to be one of my gun customers so I pulled over to the side of the road to be able to take down info if I needed. It was my cousin. She says she wants to come home, but her car has been impounded.

She is in Florida and has had some kind of tift with the girl she has been staying with and she won't let her stay there any more....so now she is homeless. I asked her about a bus ticket home and she says she has too much stuff down there to take a bus and also she has a dog. I am telling you.....this is SO frustrating!!!!

I can't just leave her down there. If I were to rent a van or something to go down there to get her myself it would take so much time and money that it would be about the same if I just paid this bill and got her car back for her. I asked myself what would my Granny do.....this is the sweetest person I have ever known in my life and I try to be just a smidge like her every day. Granny would pay the bill and move her into her home with her. I can't have her here....but I can pay the bill.

My tummy has been turning all night because of this mess. I swear.....I hope she gets her crap together. I love my family, but they drive me crazy.

is this the one who got the ticket on the go-kart???? It is tough but if you say NO!!! now, maybe you won't have to deal with her again, I can say no easier than most though Kasey.....also once she gets home how much support is she going to cost you?

"I hope she gets her crap together. I love my family, but they drive me crazy."

In red above is why you should do it. When I was young I did something stupid. Well I did alot of stupid things but there was one time I couldn't get out of the mess alone. I thank God that I had family I could call. You can choose your friends but you can't choose your family. There are times for "tough" love and there are times when you should help. I say bring her home and hopefully this will help her get on track. Just my 2 cents worth.

Don't get any ulcers out of it worrying. She is fortunate to have someone to help her out. Get her back home, and see how she wants to thank you. She already knows she owes you.

Hope this works out for you LF. You are honoring your Grandma and her commitment to her family, which evidently carries on through you. Perhaps, when she returns she might help you out in the care of your Grandmother.

Pay the impound fee (or whatever outstanding fee there is). Then she has transportation, enough to load her most valuable items, and the dog.

I don't know about anybody else, but I can most likely make the run from Florida to Ala straight-through.

...Granny's house been repaired? Anybody living there?

Do YOU need an assistant? I would think so, if I read between the lines when you post......and what exactly is it I poked? Did I have a good time while doing it?

I just got back home. It was QUITE the drive this morning to go deal with this. I had to be there early....to catch things before they took it to auction. Today was the day they were going to sell it. I swear....if she were anywhere near home I wouldn't be doing this, but I just couldn't live with myself if I hadn't at least gotten her home.

I took the receipt to her mother and told her that my only stipulation on doing this is that the title to the car has to be signed over to her. I don't want the car or anyone to pay me back....but I don't want her to be able to pawn it again. I think her mother feels a lot better knowing that she is on the way home. She seemed relieved, but she knows there will be more of this type mess to deal with when she gets here.

I just can't believe I paid $1200 for a title pawn....out of nowhere. Oh well....I guess I had better get busy so I can make up for this little hiccup. (Anybody wanna buy a gun?)

She is in Florida....she was behind on her payments. A buddy of her's told her there were jobs in the area and when she got down there it didn't happen to be true. (I know what you are thinking....there aren't easy jobs anywhere right now.) She got in a fuss with this person that she was down there with and to punish her this "friend" turned her into the title pawn place.

I am guessing the title pawn place would just hire out any tow type place to repo the car. I don't know how these things work???

Anyway, the car is in Florida and the title pawn place has been paid. There aren't supposed to be any hidden fees or charges now...she is just supposed to be able to get her car. She has told her mother she will be back here later tonite. Its a 10 hour drive

Hawking.....because I love it. Posting my silliness on the forums....because these are the things that make me "ME" and its not super crazy overly-personal. I like seeing the stories that let me get to know various posters on these forums and I have really gotten to know some of the people on here through these sorts of stories. Its pretty interesting to know how well I know some of these people....and I haven't ever met them.

Agreed. You have enough to worry about right here at home. Liken it to a train..speeding through Remlap on questionable tracks.

Actually, Kasey, my thanks go out to you. I thought my family was troublesome..but you've set me straight!

LF - here you are referring to Florida like it is some fourth rate Country! [;)] [:0] [;)]

And here I been working on getting myself back down that way!

What the heck do you know about Froida, that I don't? [;)]

If a matter of ignorant, naive or vulnerable youth ... of course being out and about near anywhere can be dangerous; at the same time that it is disconcerting and fearful to family. Hope that things will work out on a positive note, all the way around.

When you feel right about your calls, stand firm. Good luck.

Florida is WONDERFUL....that is not not NOT the problem here. Oh, and she is THIRTY EIGHT!!!! (Way too old to be in a mess like this.) She is not hanging out with people that are any count. I know she will continue to be a disappointment when she does make it back here, but at least she will not be so far away where nobody can do anything to help her.

LF: PLease don't stop your 'hawking' on this forum. I enjoy it, makes us feel like family. Any chance this wayward one can help you out with your Grandmother? Might be just the spark she needs. In our family, one of the out of work and choices kids got stuck helping out my aunt ( 95) and it ended uo being the best thing for both, By the time my aunt passed, she had enough skills to go to work at a convalescent care facility and is on her way to a nursing degree from JC

LF, I read your posts because it is part of how I get to hang out with people. Not like I can just hop in the car when I want and go visiting. Like you said no one is forced to read them. Just got to wonder about the folks who do then get upset.

Its all good. I think sometimes everyone gets a little "bug up their craw" and I probably get on everyone's nerves from time to time. (I have a gift you know.....)

I would LOVE it if she came home and could help with my Grandmother, but that isn't going to be possible. They are in different parts of my family and in different areas. I couldn't be that lucky.
