Its called Star touring and riding. Nice people and they are all over the usa and world. We are going on a covered bridge ride of pennslyvania this spring and about twenty other rides. They are going camping up in vermont for a breast cancer ride and some other cool rides. If you own a motorcycle and want to meet and ride with people, This is a great organization to join.

I almost signed on with the Pagans in the early 80's. Thank God someone knocked some sense into me and talked me out of it.

I'm not much for clubs. Too many different riding characteristics and skills.

It's just me alone or maybe a trusted friend or two....at most.

You may have to drive pretty far for covered bridges this year. We had several get washed away after Irene.

I was thinking about joining them too. I have a 2010 goldwing. I like the star a little better.

    Cool Oakie,

McConnels Mills has a very popular coved bridge out my way, you'll have to keep me posted and perhaps when it's closer to that time we can meet up. I'll show the crew some nice back roads and good biker friendly place to eat.

STAR had a huge Rally here in Roanoke a few years back, was a 3-4 day event, had venders, rides, test bikes. It was pretty impressive.

I don't play well with Others.

They were going to start a chapter of Marines MC here in Oregon. But to get in you had to go thru a Prospect time( at least 1 year.). Figure after 20 years Mine was already done.

I did my probation period, made six meetings, and had to do eight rides. I think this is good that they see how you ride before they let you join.I had never riden with alot of other riders all at once and this gave me the chance to do so. Nice bunch of guys and ladies.

All it takes is one bike carrying drugs, and everyone else is in big trouble, if you all have the same colors on their jackets.I don't like a colors on my jacket.

I belong to a AMA District 37 desert racing motorcycle club called the Vikings... and I don't even own or ride a motorcycle. The group is a bunch of good folks, and I like the races; they're a ton of fun to watch and work.

    Be safe,and have fun!

Rode with a BMW club for a couple of years. A lot of fast riding and little or no drinking. I left and joined Hell's Geezers.

I know a few old Bandidos. Good guys. Never rode with them or wanted to. Also a few Boozefighters. This might be the oldest club. "A drinking club with a motorcycle problem."

My BIL todd is an officer in the Pagens. Not my kind of club but the few pagens I met were nice guys. They fixed my sons quad and I did some heater work for them at their club house. They paid good.I joined star becaus it is the fartherest thing from an outlaw club. I went to the international motorcycle show in NYC last sunday and met a few Hells angels. All jerks. They had a booth set up selling t shirts. Now who in their right mind would wear a hells angels t shirt if you are not a member.

Oakie, hope to have at least ONE of my bikes on the road this year...[B)]
one just nees $$ for a seat and time off with weather to finish the clear-coat
the other have been searching for couple years for idle jets... only used 1 production year, and the only set i found were $45 EACH
with 4 carbs that comes to $180 more than i paid for the bike!

    '78 CB750
if i can find either the idle jets for this set, or the adapter boots to use an older set i have i am good to go
that year used different size intake spigots and a push-in idle jet instead of the old threaded ones they had from the first model till then[:(]

the other is a '76 and i brought it from a 1st place "rat" to appliance white with violet pearl, and airbrushed the tank, fairing, bags etc with an "age of legend" theme
waiting to have the $$ for a new double bucket seat, after all the paint work i just WILL NOT take it out with the torn up, stuffing flying out seat that was on it
that and i need a good weather day when i can take the time to do the last of the clear coat...[;)]

Know some Pagans, Outlaws, etc.... painted a lot of bikes... (of gee, you want it black? go figger!) Not to offend, not interested. I don't go for that 1 percent-er sH*^..... Too many posers, and middle aged adolescents.

The one 'group' I do adhere to is the Patriot Guard Riders...

Oh, and I had a Harley, Big sporty with a mustang tank and 'glide front end. Happiest day of my life was when I sold it. The ex wasn't really 'controlled' enough to take a day long ride. Sold the sporty and bought a v-4 honda and was going to 'bob' it.... Turns out the new one loves to ride, and, I tell my Harley Buddies 'I'll wait for ya.

You hit it right on the head. to many posers and whatnots.I bought a goldwing and the wife loves to go on long rides. Were planning on a trip to the keys this spring. We been all ove on it and it is one comfortable riding bike.

Have fun- when I was young I always rode with a group, these days I just dont have the time.

Most of my motorcycle riding is done during my commute.

Every chance I have spoken with someone from STAR they have seemed like a great bunch.

Keep us posted and post pics of some of those rides!
