    I think I remember mateomasfeo saying he owns one. If so, he'll be along as soon as he spots this thread title.

    I presume that you are talking about the HK P7 M8 or M13 in 9MM. Are you talking about the mechanics of the pistol or the "reliability"? I have a couple of these and really like them. They are safe reliable and accurate. It does take a bit to get used to the "squeeze" with the three fingers other than the trigger finger. The wife loves hers as well and I would not want to be 25 yards away and have her shooting at me... she is a very good shot with her P7.

    I have a couple and they are a very safe design.

    The front strap is actually the cocking mechanism.
    The pistol can not be fired until the front stap is cocked and held back. Once it is cocked it takes minimal pressure to hold it back and the pistol can be fired. Release the cocking mechanism and you can't fire it.

    I love mine and the only thing bad about it is when you release the cocking strap there is a loud click. Not a good thing if you are hiding.

    No other safties on the pistol. Squeeze the front strap and fire release and you can't fire.

    My favorite 9mm. Seems like the squeezing action causes me to hold the gun with just the right amount of grip.

    I am very accurate with mine, and it is a very safe design suitable for concealed carry.

    They are not for everyone, so if you are looking to drop the kind of money it takes to get a nice one, you should rent one or find a friend so you can try before you buy.

    Nice carry gun, a little heavy. You can also hold the trigger in, and squeeze the cocker to fire.

    can you still hold the trigger back and fire by squeezing the strap?

    the roller action really tames the recoil on them{note the two bearings under the bullet in the chamber}

    i saw a flick once on them, loaded they dropped it out of a helicopter, guy slammed it on concrete trying to make it discharge, way back when they where a bit cheaper

    What??

    The P7 is a gas retarded straight blow back. No roller, no bearings. You're thinking of another gun I think.

    Here's a great video about the P7. Caution it may not be dial-up friendly...a big file.

    you are probably correct, i have only shot one, i can't think of the one that has a roller action like the 91 bolt has the rocker bearings on the bolt

    edit: found it p9 has the roller delayed action sorry

    Icarried P7m13 for several years liked it for a 9mm compact reliable and accurate short sight radius but you can't have everything. wish I could afford one now for a good price, i'd buy it
