Kicking and screaming, but changing to Windows 10

I'm in the process of changing from Windows Vista to Windows 10. So far it sucks. I don't think it's quite as bad as I thought it would be, mostly just an unnecessary pain in the *.

It looks like they went out of their way to make it as difficult as possible, but I'm sure Windows 11 will have a few new wrinkles.

After I fiddle and diddle with it for two or three years I'm sure it will be almost as good as Vista and I'll like it, it's just a lot of relearning for no apparent reason. Fifteen years from now when I'm looking at changing to Windows 25 I'll be bitching about I liked Windows 10.

I believe USB 3.0 really is a little faster than USB 2, but it ain't the blistering speed I was led to believe.

10 is growing on me. I'm starting to like it better than Windows 7 even.

Some will die in hot pursuit
    While sifting through my ashes
Some will fall in love with life
And drink it from a fountain
That is pouring like an avalanche

I have a list of doctors as long as your arm, even three dentists. Each of those doctors assures me that all these ailments I have aren't the ones that kill you, they are the ones you die with, not from. So if all those doctors are right I might have trouble finding anything to die from when I'm over 100. I might have to wait for somebody to shoot me. [:D]

I had very little trouble adapting to 10. The first things I did were to disable their browser and that cloud storage thing. After that, 10 runs very much like 7 once you get used to the different things in the program box.
    I may be a bit crazy - but I didn't drive myself.

I have stuck with Windows 7, so far so good. At least they quit nagging me about changing.

At our house we switched 4 computers over to Win 10 18 months ago. Still trying to figure out what everybody's bitching about.

I was really comfortable with Win7 and then installed Win8. That was tough but I know why they did that, it was to make it much more familiar with the new I-phone and other new devices. It wasn't very successful and M.S. backed off with Win10 somewhat. I can handle that one. We need to accept the newer upgrades or just leave Win completely. I might add that I started with DOS and when I installed Win3.0 my pals thought that I was crazy. I might be but it had nothing to do with Win3.0!
It's too late for me, save yourself.

Have windows 10 because it came with a new computer. Never used Cortana, who needs it, maybe if you don't type?

I'll never like windows 10. Might switch to an android system and forget microsoft all together.

Maybe buy a 32 bit windows 7 professional next time I'm in the states.

I really liked my work computer. The tech lady emailed me and told me I was getting a new one. I emailed and told her everything was fine and I didn't need a new one. The tech lady emailed me and told me I was getting a new one.

She did, though, come and lean over my desk in her low-cut top while I was logging into and setting up the new one. Amazing how a nice set of boobs makes just about any unpleasant situation a bit better.

Think 10 is bad they tried to switch me today to Solidworks 2017. I said they could if they had Service Pack 3. They tried to tell me they were not able to download the service packs.

Each time they do a change to solid works it takes till service pack 5 to get most of the bugs out. This time old assemblies lose parts and become corrupt till you install service pack 3.

I would have spent more time fixing thing than making new.

Just did it 2 weeks ago James, FROM VISTA ! ME TO. My first one had a factory virus and had to take it back to Staples/[|)] My second one had problems staying connected ect. IT WAS THE server from Frontier that needed upgraded, not the puter. Now the whole unit I bought is running like an Obama voter on election day.
Vista is gone, nothing supports it so it was necessary to do a whole new system. I like it.
But still have to figure out how to do everything,[:I]

Changed about a month ago from Vista to Windows 10. For me it is going to take awhile. I hate having to learn new stuff as my brain no longer functions well for memory and focus ever since it got banged up and sprung a leak in the late 80's.

I'll get there (if I could just remember where I am going).

Windows 10 was the worse thing I have ever gotten free. I have turned everything to off I can find and still hate it. I am glad I have a Win 7 backup machine.

I've been using Windows 10 since it was first offered to those of us that had Windows 7 PCs (3 in my case). There can be issues on older computers, but the pre upgrade system evaluation should reveal the potential hardware/software issues, which will help you decide if you want to upgrade or not.

I'm now on the Creators Update on my Windows 10 Pro PC with no major issues, but there are a few minor ones.

Anyone upgrading to Windows 10, users should go through Settings and turn off all of the unwanted/unneeded features and make sure you opt out of all of the privacy exposures!!!!

One of the things I don't like about Windows 10:

I'm using a 74.5 GB WD portable disk to transfer data from my VISTA to the Win10. The first transfer went smooth. No problems at all. The second transfer Win10 said I needed to format the portable disk before I could us it. I told it OK. Then the son-of-a-* said I didn't have authority to format a disk. The Task Manager says nothing is running, but the format status bar claims it's about half done formatting the disk.

I think it's formatting, but why the do it, you can't do it, it ain't running but it will be done in a few minutes cow cookies?

Yep about the initial learning pain.
I've upgraded from XP to windows 7 then too windows 10.

About time I get to liking something it goes away. (reminds me of the Jose Wales saying, and the ole Indain says I also noticed if you don't like them they don't live long either)

Windows 10 seems faster but not quite as user friendly as windows 10 for me on my 64 bit computer.

and every once in awhile for no apparent reason small things just change all at once. For example Internet explorer evaporated and had to go deep and find it??? Had to use google to access email, etc, until I got things restored. (other small quirks every once in awhile)
    ???

About time for windows 10.75, 11, and watch out for #13[:I][B)]
