I've owned all except the Beretta. Got them in 9mm.
You can't go wrong with any of them.
Handle and shoot if possible. Them go with the one that feels best.

Love my Colt but prefer to shoot my Springfield. I also have a XD that is fun to shoot and has never had a problem with any ammo.

Can't go wrong with a good 1911. I prefer springfield, others like kimber, some like rock island and others only want colt. The price varies considerably between them so the key is to determine what you want and don't want in a pistol and get what you want with none of the stuff you don't for the best price.

I hear Kimber is good, my Desert Eagle 1911 is terrific for me, but most modern .45s these days I bet would be great shooters for you. Everyone loves the .45 they own.

A good trigger pull (light and crisp) is essential for me. If the gun has that I guess it would be fine. Mine is at 3.5 pounds.

Get out to some gun shops and handle them.

The HK and Sig are both great firearms. Personally if going HK I'd stick to the HK45 over the USP, and if going Sig I'd avoid the P250. I've not heard alot bad about the P250, but being so cheap (for a sig), relatively new, and Sig recently getting alot of bad rep for quality control/customer service has made me shy away from any new sig products.

The 1911s are also great choices if it fits your hand and offers the platform you are looking for. Kimbers are great guns at a fairly reasonable price, you can't go wrong with a colt, and springfields enjoy a good following.

Sig 220, Glock21 or 30, SW M&P, Springfield XD. Those would be my choices in that order.
Some will die in hot pursuit
    And fiery auto crashes
Some will die in hot pursuit
    While sifting through my ashes
Some will fall in love with life
And drink it from a fountain
That is pouring like an avalanche
    Coming down the mountain
