...and applied for a CPL. I have mixed emotions about that whole process.
Some will die in hot pursuit
And fiery auto crashes
Some will die in hot pursuit
While sifting through my ashes
Some will fall in love with life
And drink it from a fountain
That is pouring like an avalanche

In WA there is a fingerprinting requirement. Not previously having them on file anywhere, I was adverse to the idea.

How much for a lifetime license? In Louisiana it's $500, and I don't think that includes the class, notary, and filing fees.

Really hoping we get constitutional carry passed this session.

Well that's it, they've got them now!!! The next will be your DNA! [8D] Actually I don't blame you for having reservations about submitting your finger prints.

No prints in my county in Iowa,

But, the Corps has them, the FBI has them for working on their bldgs, and the nukelear regulartory commission has them for working in a nuke plant.

I'm already screwed so it wouldn't matter to me if they wanted it for a ccw.

Why???? I have had mine on file since I was 18, when I got finger printed for capital murder. Just seeing if you were paying attention. When I got finger printed for my firearms ID card. It is a must in NJ.

I did not get fingerprinted when I got my carry permit, but got fingerprinted when I got my school bus driving job. Go figure.
The sheriff's deputy took my prints and then handed me the card. I took the card to the School Board office.
Sheriff did not keep a copy.

When I turned 21 I got my Washington concealed carry license. I don't recall getting fingerprints. I went into the King Co. Courthouse in downtown Seattle, waited in a line for 20 minutes and walked out with it. Signed by the county Sherriff I believe. It was just a paper card, looked like a fishing license.

I'm not sure when the rule changed, but from what I understand the license is still just a paper card. They said I can laminate it if I want.

Even though I had prints on file since 1973, required for LEOs, I had to be printed again for CCW after retiring. Nice now though since it is electronic instead of nasty ink. In my county they laminate the card, but charge $5 for that, whether you like it or not.[8D]

PA is pretty fast with a CHL. They do the picture. Not sure if I give them a thumbprint.

When I renew my FL CHL, I have to submit a fingerprint card from our local PD.

I couldn't even guess the number of times my finger prints have been taken.
I worked at the airport and it seemed like they called every month needing to redo my prints.
I also worked at several secure Navy installations after I got out of the Navy and they were big on security.
Something to do with Trident subs and missiles.

Between the airport, the Navy and CPL I am sure my prints would be easy to get.

My wife volunteered at my son's school to chaperoned a field trip and she had to get printed.
I have read about several hospitals taking DNA from newborns babies so it may not be too far fetched for there to be a DNA data base of everyone eventually.

I sent off for my CCL a month ago.
It will take an extra month because I chose not to do the digital fingerprint.
This is in the communist state of IL.
