quote:The law, SB 719A, allows police, or a member of a subject?s family or household, to file a petition with the court which could lead to an order prohibiting firearms possession if it is believed they pose an imminent risk to themselves or others. The bill passed the Senate 17-11 in May and the House 31-28 last month, picking up only one Republican supporter along the way.

what could possible go wrong ?

    Personally I trust NO ONE.

A gun owner in Oregon should move or not have family, wife, kids, half brothers/sisters or a potential libtard living with them.

There is the Police,, no,, just better to leave.

    How is "imminent risk" assessed?

    And by whom?

From the article..."Those filing fake orders could be imprisoned for up to a year, or pay a fine of up to $6,250, or both."

Yeah. NOT good enough. Triple the fine and make the one year a minimum, and maybe....

    Death to fake filers!
Some will die in hot pursuit
    And fiery auto crashes
Some will die in hot pursuit
    While sifting through my ashes
Some will fall in love with life
And drink it from a fountain
That is pouring like an avalanche
    Coming down the mountain
