Redhawk barrel changeout

What is involved in changing out a barrel on a Redhawk?
Some will die in hot pursuit
And fiery auto crashes
Some will die in hot pursuit
While sifting through my ashes
Some will fall in love with life
And drink it from a fountain
That is pouring like an avalanche
Coming down the mountain

MrP, I believe that Ruger put their barrels on with hydraulics and they use a special anti-size compound, because they had some barrels separate from the frame in the past.

I am not sure if a gunsmith will do it but Ruger will do it.

I would ask a local Gunsmith if they can do it and what they charge. While they are doing it they can put an 11 degree on the forcing cone and a nice crown on the barrel.

    I wanted a S&W 629 Mtn revolver but I could not find one. I had a 6" 629 and I got a 4" Mtn revolver barrel.

I had Clarks in LA put the 4" barrel on and do a trigger job. It's now my favorite revolver.
