It's being willing. I found out early that most men, regardless of cause or need, aren't willing. They blink an eye or draw a breath before they pull the trigger. I won't. ~ J.B. Books

William Shatner will always be the true Captain of the Enterprise. The others are just impostors. [;)]

I have been watching Star Trek, the original series, on Netflix and even though the makeup, costumes and special effects were cheesy and low budget, the storylines created were excellent! Gene Rodenberry was a genius! Yeoman Rand was hot too!

Actually, actor Sean Kenney played the injured Captain Pike. Jeffrey Hunter played the younger, healthy Pike.

Sisko (Avery Brooks) and Janeway (Kate Mulgrew) commanded the Defiant and Voyager respectively and never held command over any of the Enterprises, so those two ain't impostering![8D]

(actually, say what you will about Janeway, but Sisko was The Man!)[8D]

I grew up watching the original Star Trek, but the BEST by far was Star Trek TNG. Picard rules!

Can one be a captain of a space dock? Or is it just the rank? Also I don't remember Sisko ever being a captain of Enterprise. Then again I never really watched "Deep Space 9".

Sisco never was Capt. of the Enterprise but there was a serious battle ship that was eventually attached to Deep Space Nine. Worf usually Captained the Defiant, altho, if I remember right, Sisco did take the helm on several occasions.

I miss having a Startrek on TV.

Consider the fact that Kate Mulgrew and Avery Brooks never commanded anything named "Enterprise."

Deep Space 9 wasn't really a "space dock" per se. It was a forward outpost with some pretty substantial facilities for fleet support, but they really had no way to repair critical damage.

I thought DS9 was the best of the Star Trek series. There was the most continuity from episode to episode, and the fact that they were in a static location meant that they had to deal with whatever happened around them...they couldn't just fly off to the next system.

The only truly bad part about DS9 was when the producers decided not to renew Terry Farrell's contract for Season 7. That was a mistake.

Deep Space Nine was more of a station than just a dock. And Sisko's rank was for both the station and the Defiant.

You should check out DS9. The first two seasons aren't the best, but the last four are a lot of fun.

Never realy cared for "Deep Sace 9" except I did like that one chick with spots around her face. I did watch it off and on but once she got with the Klingon and she turned he/she I got confused and gave up.

Also how is it that all aliens units are human compatable? I'm thinking Klingons got that forehead ridges down stairs, too [:D]. Hairless and ridged like Ruffles potato chips.

Here we have a thread full of guys arguing about which dude is best? Sounds a bit light in the loafers to me.
Some will die in hot pursuit
    And fiery auto crashes
Some will die in hot pursuit
    While sifting through my ashes
Some will fall in love with life
And drink it from a fountain
That is pouring like an avalanche
    Coming down the mountain
