driving a Prius to combat climate change is like shooting your foot to stop feeling the pain in your leg.

Some will die in hot pursuit
And fiery auto crashes
Some will die in hot pursuit
While sifting through my ashes
Some will fall in love with life
And drink it from a fountain
That is pouring like an avalanche
Coming down the mountain
And fiery auto crashes
Some will die in hot pursuit
While sifting through my ashes
Some will fall in love with life
And drink it from a fountain
That is pouring like an avalanche
Coming down the mountain

Idiots.
When I lived on the wet side, your tire couldn't throw a rock without hitting one.[xx(]
I hear you. Drive around in Portland and they are like cockroaches. Everywhere.
So many of them they have chased the Washington drivers out of the fast lane. [;)][:D]
This was a huge commercial smokestack for a nickel refiner. Now look at the ground in a fan running NE from the stack. Notice the dead ground, no vegetation, black? Note this view is from a satellite in outer space, so this is rather good sized. Still think this sort of thing is good for the environment?
The Prius may not use Ni-cads, but what about the impact on the environment where the components it DOES use are mined, refined and processed.

There should be a law about those things that puts them in the same category as a moped to keep them off from the freeway all together, or at lest make them like a truck and trailer so that they cannot occupy anything other then the far right lanes, they are a nuisance and a danger on the road.

You doing ok?
Glad to see you back.
I almost bought one of the Prius's and then came to my senses and bought a new Camaro SS Drop top with 400 horsepower. Sure glad I came out of that sense of stupidity.[:D][;)][:p]
phewwwww that was a close one! [B)]
I drive a Tahoe, I do my best to contribute to global climate change. [;)]
Or like making out with the wrong girl and hoping you never get caught with her by your friends....
There's a joke about mopeds that comes to mind....
Remember when rechargeable batteries used lots of nickel and cadmium? If you have Google Earth, search for INCO Superstack, Sudbury Ont.

Look just east of Ducktown, TN back in the 1800s there was a smelter there. As late as the 60's this is what the area looked like. The trees have come back to a degree, but you can still see the scar on Google Earth.
Well it turns out those fancy K-cups for the Keurig Coffee maker are not recyclable and cannot be made to be recyclable[:D]
C&P
"No matter what they say about recycling, those things will never be recyclable," Sylvan told the Atlantic. "The plastic is a specialized plastic made of four different layers." The cups are made from plastic #7, a mix that is recyclable in only a handful of cities in Canada. That plastic keeps the coffee inside protected like a nuclear bunker, and it also holds up during the brewing process. A paper prototype failed to accomplish as much.

What a bunch of dumb a$$es
My favorite is the people who go all electric to save the planet. They take a car that really gives off very little pollution and replace it with a car full of toxic heavy metals that gets charged using mostly coal, natural gas, and nuclear power, which they also decry... yet somehow say they are still doing better by the environment.
Idiots.
Not to mention just the mere processes required to source the heavy metals and manufacture the batteries they love to have power their cars.
