It is running slow for me as well. Last night there was a huge Windows update, something like 22 of the things, and every time I run an update two things happen: The site runs slower and my popup blocker forgets to block the irritating ads. Eventually the forum speeds up and the popup blocker kicks in again, but it takes at least a day. In the meantime; I don't wan to buy a Nissan or process credit cards...show me something else!

I don't know if this is just on my machine, or if it happens to everyone who runs these updates.

Same exact thing here, windows vista , firefox, on a fast laptop and super fast
    verzon internet.

I think it's on GB's end....I noticed sometimes when it first opens, the "rubicanproject" {lower left corner of my browser} which looks like it loads those banner adds slows down.

    Auction side or Forums?

The forums run in the cloud and are what they are. Auction runs on our hardware and all the external monitors show that all systems are functioning within normal specifications. (Due to the updates we did have to fail over to the backup so we could update the primary and reboot those systems. The failover takes less than a minute though. )

When I have performance problems, I disable my Norton firewall & everything runs normally. Later in the day, the firewall kicks back in, & everything is back to normal.

    Just saying....

Everything is back up to speed today. I noticed last night that the popup blocker had eliminated the YouTube ads as well as those found on several other sites I visit, but GB was unaffected. When I logged on to GB this morning the screen was free of the clutter...No more Nissans! (I wonder if a big corporation like that has any clue about the things that are is said in this forum?). The only advertisements left were on AT&T. My home page was clear by lunchtime, but the ads in my email server must be deeply entrenched and it was not until after lunch that I was finally free. I'm suspecting that the popup blocker and the Windows updates don't work well together, but in the long run, even with the chance of having a slower machine, it is worth having the blocker to keep the garbage off my screen!
