Comes on cable on the RFD TV Channel.
In the early 70s, I worked at a TV station. We carried HH on CBS and later in syndication. As now TV casts will travel to local stations for promotion. I met Gunilla Hutton(Nurse Goodbody), Lisa Todd(Sunshine Cornsilk) and Misty Rowe on one of those trips. They were all tall, and more gorgeous than TV could show. I also met Roy once when he was in Durham doing the Rice Diet at Duke. Couldn't ask for nicer folks.
HH was only on the network for 3 years, and then syndicated for probably 20 years, and in reruns ever since. So you can see it if you can get cable or one of the sat that have RFD.

Samples ( not sure of his real name or stage name ) was from the area. my wife's family told me they would see him shopping would talk with everyone just a good old boy . they always said he did not make much money from being on the show. he is buried in a local cemetery [:(]

Jr. was from *,Georgia. His name was Alvin Samples, Jr. so it was his real name. They pulled a surprise on him once while taping a show. They had brought some of his family in he hadn't seen in a while. He cried like a baby. I said then that's a good hearted man. He sure was. He wasn't acting.

Junior only made it to 57, was said to weigh 400 pounds when a heart attack got him. Too bad, I think he would have continued to be successful as he got older.

The ladies singing "oh you'll never hear us repeating gossip, so ya better listen up close the first time." and no one mentioned Minnie Pearl or Buck Owens.

My ex-BIL lived in a house he told me was custom made for Jr. The doorways and doors were extra wide to accomodate him.

I have no reason to doubt him.

This was out Ga 400, north of Atlanta.....I think it was a * address.

There were many legendary country artists on that little show. Buck Owens was a powerful force in Nashville for a long time. But he wasn't quite the same after Don Rich was killed in a motorcycle wreck. Rich was a guitarist and harmonized with Buck beautifully. Buck was a mentor to Dwight Yoakum and helped him along, and many others. Grandpa Jones and String Bean and Minnie Pearle, all "Opry" stars, even Little Jimmy Dickens was a guest. He used to stop in our town for BBQ at Jack's, saw him there when I was a kid.
String and his wife were murdered, too much publicity about his habit of carrying a large roll of money in his bib coveralls.
I am sure I saw every show several times and it never got old to me.
So many talented people to mention, but Roy Clark can't be left out. Loved his guitar picking.[8D]

Some will die in hot pursuit
    And fiery auto crashes
Some will die in hot pursuit
    While sifting through my ashes
Some will fall in love with life
And drink it from a fountain
That is pouring like an avalanche
    Coming down the mountain

I watch reruns on RFD-TV. I like the covers by the Hager Twins (both dead now, I think). And dark-haired Lisa Todd/Sunshine ... ?[:p]
