Is it normal for toggle light switch dimmmers to always get warm after being on for a while ???

How many watts are you trying to control and what is the rating on the switch? If it is a Triac style and has a heat sink base it will get warm but should not get hot unless being over rated
Why don't we go to school and work on the weekends and take the week off!

You are switching 200 watts what is the switch rated for? If 200 or more should be fine a Triac is a solid state device that effectively "chops" the sine wave of AC voltage.

All of mine do (get warm), even with low wattage led bulbs as the load. I'm not a huge fan of them, but they came with the house installed practically everywhere.
