edited February 2013 in General Discussion
I purchased a gun on the auction side the other day. the seller has 1 positive feedback total.
i checked his feedback on his purchase and it included "....fast payment...." and the feedback was dated the same day as the purchase.
then the item is relisted and resold the next day.
here's the auction:

doesn't seem Kosher to me.
any opinions/ideas?
thanks
tom

Some will die in hot pursuit
    And fiery auto crashes
Some will die in hot pursuit
    While sifting through my ashes
Some will fall in love with life
And drink it from a fountain
That is pouring like an avalanche

Its the same seller....maybe he has more than one, selling one at a time, just relisting to save time.

Somehow some of the bid history on the first auction has been deleted? I only see 2 bids/bidders now.

The seller left positive feedback for the buyer 15 minutes after the one day auction ended. That is strange.

Hi Tom, good to see ya.

Nope. Not in any of the three auctions involved here. That's some bad juju.

I turned it over to auction customer servive, haven't heard back yet.
meantime, the seller has emailed me 3 times and called twice asking when to expect payment.
seller says he won't ship thru an FFL, even if i pay the additional costs.
I hope the Capt nails this guy!

What do you mean, he won't ship it to the FFL, or use FFL to ship to your FFL?

One does not have to use FFL to ship a rifle, correct?

correct, but why would he not want to if i pay the cost?
BTW not all FFL's will accept a gun shipment from a non FFL.

MOST FFl dealers won't receive a gun unless it is shipped from another ffl dealer

That means most FFLs are stupid, don't know the rules or are rigging the market.

OP, tell this guy I'm RIGHT down the street. If he's straight up, he'll bring the gun here and I'll ship it to your FFL on my UPS account.

Actually, you can tell him you're only sending funds here, that'll flush him out.

San Tan Valley is 4 minutes from my shop.

Not here. The FFLs don't give a rip who ships it to them.

The auction (seller: rsblair) you won:
    http://www.GunBroker.com/Auction/ViewItem.aspx?Item=327281057

That auction has photos used in this auction (won by rsblair on Jan. 15):
    http://www.GunBroker.com/Auction/ViewItem.aspx?Item=326104475

It looks like he's purchased and immediately resold it using some of the original seller's (buggyboat's) photos.

The seller of the auction you won (rsblair), "won" this one too:
    http://www.GunBroker.com/Auction/ViewItem.aspx?Item=327285352

This one has photos lifted from this listing:
    http://www.GunBroker.com/Auction/ViewItem.aspx?Item=325753131

There is something weird going on with those listings; perhaps shill bidding? The seller in the auction you won (rsblair) might be involved in it (at the very least, he's not using his own photos when doing his listing -- which is suspicious) but I have other things to do than trying to research this more. (GB has better tools to get to the bottom of this too.)

You have to be pretty dumb to steal photos that are watermarked with another user name.

I agree with all the comments. something is very wrong with this seller.
DRP, thanks for the offer, I might take you up on it.
that's basically why I asked to go thru an FFL, just another level of security. figured i'd send the $$ to the FFL.
I really doubt I will ever see a gun from this auction.
but i won't be sending out a MO anytime soon.
hope this doesnt screw up my feedback rating (100%).
BTW, compet... thanks for that info, i didn't dig that deep, but it sure makes the whole affair more suspicious.
