I must say my trip to New York is going better than expected I've seen some really nice florist shops and sewing machines I plan on staying away from the gun shops since they may throw bricks at a Louisiana native but did bring a few copy's of my buddy's ffl in case I saw some p38s on a planned few days stay in Alabama on the way back

    The * of America.

Yeah you heard right, ny SUCKS.

let me elaborate a little, I am up here working and it makes me home sick. This place looks a lot like home, but the people are nothing like they are at home, the laws and the sheer volume of police are nothing like they are at home.

Ahhhh Kentucky, one of the finest places left in this country.

Any large building in NYC must have emergency "bugeye" lights in all stairs and areas of egress. And unlike the rest of the country which use 6 volt batteries, any in NYC must be 12 volt to last longer.
Very few have on site power generators, except for temp. power of data storage units.

Elevators are typically going to be 4160 VAC. Not likely to be on a backup system except in VERY special places.

Be patient. Looters can't run fast in 3' of water. They can't run fast either carrying a truck battery. Thief stole one out the back of my truck a few years back. I was 50 yd. from him and took chase. He put it down.

I could go on and on and on.... Trash does not live only in one place, in fact I'm pretty sure you have more of it than we do.

Most of the stores up there are much harder targets, but then I don't have to put up with that funky urine smell and feel like im in a war zone every day.

Have you ever wondered why a number of FDNY and PA folks were found in the subterranean levels of the Trade Center Buildings?

Folks is folks. Trailer Home, Row House, or Pent House; all are represented by members that are good and evil.
Freedom and a submissive populace cannot co-exist.

"People were running in and out of Rent-A-Center carrying these big flat screens. They were holding on tight," said witness Aisha John, 20. "I couldn't understand how someone could steal a big TV in broad
    daylight, but no one cared."

She said people were running out of a nearby Rite Aid with bags of diapers and wipes.

"Look, they've been looting our wallets for too long," said a young male who claimed he helped himself to a TV at the Rent-A-Center.

"It's about time we start taking this sh-back," the youth, who identified himself as Jesse James, told the Daily News.

Why would you think that the looters would (or could) think to profit from their ill gotten booty? They do not subscribe to the Capitalism model, they only want to TAKE TAKE TAKE from those that produce.

Fine folks you have up there....

MYFOXNY.COM - A St. Albans, Queens man has been charged with menacing and criminal possession of a weapon after he attempted to cut a line at a gas station and pointed a pistol at another motorist who complained.

According to charges, Sean M. Bailey, 35, of 111-14 204th Street was attempting to pull his white 2010 BMW ahead of another motorist on a gas line at the intersection of Astoria Boulevard and 43rd Street sometime between 2:30 a.m. and 3:05 a.m. on Thursday.

Prosecutors say that when a 29-year-old driver complained, Bailey pulled out a gun, pointed it at the victim and said, "If you don't pull back, you're not getting gas tonight."

Police arrested Bailey and found a loaded .25 caliber Phoenix Raven pistol in his left boot. If convicted, Bailey faces up to fifteen years in prison

as I mentioned in another thread (Bloomberg AZZHAT) I have a personal interest.
Not only is my elderly Mom there, so are 6 other family members and multiple friends.
police and fire departments are strained beyond comprehension. A NYC fireman buddy of mine is on his 5th 24 hour shift. his wife and 3 kids are stranded, w/o power or heat on Long Island. their car was washed down the street and is now stuck against a tree in a neighbors yard. here are no hotel rooms to be had w/i a 100 mile radius.
in NYC as well as nassau county, looting is rampant.
there are street gangs in Queens NY that will "guarantee" your safety at the gas pumps, for a fee.
    the animals are running free.
