re-bedding a once bedded stock? Help!

Here is my situation... I purchased a used Browning A-Bolt Medallion in win .270 caliber. Is has the wood stock and blued barrel. The stock was a litle beat up but not real bad. I came across a Bell and Carlson synthetic stock and thought it would be an easy improvement. Soon I realized the barrel and recoil lug were epoxied into the stock when removing the action/barrel from the wood. I managed to remove the barrel and action with a little encouragement. Unfortunately, I found the synthetic stock was not a drop in fit and I spent about three hours sanding in an attempt to free float the barrel. Then the trigger made contact with the rear trigger guard and wouldn't pull back. Bell and Carlson=junk. Now I have put the metal back into the wood and managed a <1/2" group with my first group of reloads. It seems very accurate. I just plan to hunt whitetails at short to meduim range in northern Minnesota. Should I leave well enough alone or do some light sanding and attempt to re-bed the barrel and action again? I wonder if moisture will get in between the metal and wood during inclement weather and stay there to cause rust. Any thoughts???
