Went and told the neighbors their dog had puppies in my yard and they told me that they got rid of all their dogs 2 months ago. They could not catch that one so they quit feeding it. OK now i know why she was in my fence everyday. I have 4 automatic feeders that stay full. They told me since shes in my yard call the pound they will come get her. I asked what about the puppies and they said they will get them too. So who wants mixed puppies.

It should be legal to shoot some people. That was why she was digging holes to get in my pen i thought it was because she was in heat but now i bet she was hungry. That makes me mad.

The first child welfare laws were actually animal welfare laws applied to children.

    Your neighbors SUCK!!!

Dave, I know you will do your best for them. [^]
It's being willing. I found out early that most men, regardless of cause or need, aren't willing. They blink an eye or draw a breath before they pull the trigger. I won't. ~ J.B. Books

    Does that count as neglect?

I hate to bother her and i see 5 puppies. 3 black and 2 brown. Where she is at i cant get to her and i have never petted her so i hate to stick my hand in there. She is in holly bushes. My wife just bought a dog house for her and we have to go pick it up. We will see if we can coax her and the pups in it.

If i move the pups will the mama dog bite. Or can i move the mama dog and her not bite.

If the pups eyes are closed , best left alone for a few days. if she eats well on her own,ok. leave her, if not give her food/ water. The trust will come , then you can mover her some place safe.

Mama is scared and has been neglected. Approach her slowly and speak softly to her while bringing her some food and water. Like any mother, she's going to protect her pups so you need to earn her trust. Get a little closer each day and let her know you aren't a threat. Start leaving the dishes a little closer to you so she needs to come to them and you. She's been in a home, even though she was neglected, so she's used to humans. She just needs to be comfortable that you're one of the good ones. Then, put the food & water in the dog house and let her go to it.

Dave - Where are you at? And any idea what breeds are involved? I MAY be able to find a home for one of the puppies.

Don't know what climate you are in dav, but about 3 weeks for the eyes. As others have said, don't bother her much for a while. In 6 or so weeks, providing your weather is OK, she will bring them out and show them to you. She should trust you by then.
It's too late for me, save yourself.

I learned that one the hard way. Even the Little dogs get very Vicious. After bitten the owner of the dog said "I told you so". So not only did I get Bitten I was Punished.

If you put the dog house close to her and leave food and water she will move the pups if the weather gets bad.

When she sees you leave food and water, she'll start to trust you. She'll let you know when it's okay to handle them. If the weather turns bad or too cold, you may be able to muzzle her while you move them into the dog house...then let her go to'em. She'll understand.
She wants them to have shelter.

I have all the dogs giving away along with the mother dog. My wife knows someone who works at an adoptive agency and she has 2 foster familys that will take all of them. We went and bought a dog house today for her and set food and water beside it. So maybe in a couple days she will put the dogs in the house. Where she is at she cant get rained on so she probably will not move them. I will feed and water her every day. I think she will stay here for at least 2 weeks. The dad is either a black lab or a golden retriver and i have no idea what the mom is except she is kind of small.
